I thought you told the other guy not to put cream cheese on bagels?
He said vege-cream cheese. Cream cheese with garbage in it.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

:dunno:
Don't put butter or fruity/crappy cream cheese on it.

Vege cream cheese is worse than cream cheese, tomatos, and capers?  Not really seeing the difference hear.  Yeah, the mass produced, flavored cream cheeses suck but the locally produced stuff is delicious.  Stop being a bagel snob.  (Guess we could let the Jews be bagel snobs, they earned it.)

I lived on 20 acres with a creek & trees running down one side around the towanda/augusta area.   My buddies and I swiped some wood from my dad's shed & built a couple of bridges going over the creek.  We then cleared about 5 trails running through the trees making booby traps along the way to catch crap like, squirrels, deer, rabbits, friends little brothers, etc.   There was one tree that was good for climbing and we started to build a tree house in it, but it got struck by lightning and split the trunk in half.   After that, it was still easy to climb, but the main trunks were too far apart to build anything higher than 3 feet off the ground.  Later when we were in high school, we built bunkers and turned it into a kick ass paint ball field - bought cheep wal-mart guns & invited people we didn't like over so we could hide in all of our secret hiding places we had built and mercifully destroy all opposition.  After a full day of paintball, we would swipe beer from our dads, walk down to the local turnpike bridge late at night, drink beer & talk about how awesome sex would be when we got girlfriends that put out & eat cinnamon bagels with strawberry cream cheese.

Used to do the sheet over the couch cushion forts, but we would add a fan and make it blow up like the Metrodome.

Very elite.

anyone else spend a crap ton of time walking though creeks and trees?? Just used to randomly start walking a couple miles down the creek, finding random stuff. Really no point at all.

I do that fairly often now.  Got 200 acres to explore.  Found an old well from likely sometime pre-1880's and the remains of some building from the same era.  All that's left is a circular pit about 12' across.  Good place to find morels and deer sheds too.

Greatest book of all time?  Yep, My Side of the Mountain....about a boy who makes a fort out of a tree stump and befriends a bird and some other animals.  he made a fireplace in his tree stump fort for crying out loud.

OMFG, This was my favorite too. I also enjoyed The Other Side of the Mountain as well. Jean Craighead George was the reason I almost wanted to take up falconry.

Another classic.... Man who Loved Clowns. Talk about a tear jerker.

Hatchet FTW

A long time ago (maybe on the old board?) rickdaris referenced "the boy who only hit homers" and I immediately followed up with a super insidery type metaphor to let him know we BOTH loved that book as kids. Then, he basically blew me off. So...guess who ate alone at horrible restaurants in Bethesda.

Was out hiking around some woods near my apartment in topeka one time and came across a small clearing in which sat a chair, a bottle of hand lotion, and a porn mag.  I left the area and disinfected my boots.
