Until we give them back their Dillards discount, I can't see them putting in much effort.

It seems like it.  The one thing I grew to expect from Frank Martin teams is effort and intensity.  And the trend is when the going gets tough, this team slacks for a significant stretch in those two areas.  They let bad offense lead to bad defense.  Frustrating to watch, and its pretty clear Frank doesn't know which buttons to push to fix it right now.

The process will be complete when someone says "we tried to run an inbounds play we had never practiced" after a late game turnover to lose at home to Iowa State.

This team mailed it in when they saw they were ranked #3 in the preseason polls.

he might try not pushing buttons.  like, quit trying to prove points during a game and just win a f'ing game.

This is IMO the truth of the matter.  There is no reason for JHR to EVER see the floor.  He is an embarrasment to the game of basketball.
Wait a minute guys... I don't play golf... for money... against people.

Not sure how you can say that.  He played 10 minutes and scored 0 points and had 0 rebounds...and he's 7 feet tall.

I still love Frank.  Can't help it.

They do not know any better; they are kids. How are they supposed to know any better? It is my job to get them through this and we are going to go after it and fix it.”

Frank has been consistent with that point his whole tenure at K-State.  I knew people would hate it when we didn't have success though.

it's not the "I'm a math teacher" thing, it's that he doesn't know how to fix it.  Or rather, he's only shown the he knows one way to fix it.

remember when Whitlock said that Wooly was a good coach, but didn't get mean enough to command the team to win?

Frank is mean enough, and we are now back to Wooly quality for now.

Whitlock thought it was Wooly.  Turns out it was KState.

True, its frustrating he hasn't figured out this team yet.  I get the complaints about talent, but we should still be better than what we've shown; there really is no excuse for completely falling apart for long stretches like we have in 3 games now.  But the staff has clearly not been able to figure out leadership, line-ups, etc. to avoid those stretches.  To do it 3 times and now twice in a row is a big concern.

How hard is it to "figure out" that you don't throw a lineup out there consisting of Myles, Southwell, Spradling (?), JHR, and Asprilla, in the first 6 minutes of a game in which you're up 14-4 and have all the momentum in the building locked down?

There is no excuse for that. None.

I think this team needs to get back to fundamentals.  Passing to be specific, the passing angles were terrible from the little bit I watched last night.  passing from the top of the key to the wing and throwing it away instead of taking a couple of dribbles to make a better angle.   Or trying to wrap around a pass into the post where you can't even see who you are passing to.  Also trying to pass to the post from the top of the key, hard to do and is a bad angle.  Don't remember this from last night but has be done many times before.  Just my rant and no that is not the only problem but it is a big one, and maybe some dribbling drills so we stop dribbling off of our feet out of bounds or getting the ball stripped in traffic.

It seems like he doesn't get mad at the most obvious bball no-no's (JHR face guarding a big on the perimeter, only to have him get blown by), but he pulls guys after trying to make a play. That's the frustrating part.
