It seems like he doesn't get mad at the most obvious bball no-no's (JHR face guarding a big on the perimeter, only to have him get blown by), but he pulls guys after trying to make a play. That's the frustrating part.

He yells at him to "keep your hands off" after JHR does this.  Counts for something?

I feel like Jamar only plays when he wants to. Which is prob 1/4th of the time.

He only plays well when he feels well.  He can't emotionally rebound fast enough.  He plays 95% out of pure emotion.

I had to chuckle when he chucked up that FT-line jumper in the 2nd half last night that looked like it could have broken the glass. It was like he turned around and figured he had to shoot because he was wide open, but clearly didn't give a eff about the shot or the game in general.

you know what i hate?  i hate when i'm feeling all meltdowny because kstate has played poorly, and then i open some threads all ready to complain about kstate playing poorly and i have to read a bunch of dumbass posts with Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) posters complaining about crap that never happened, or completely misunderstanding crap that did happen.

i hate that, because when it happens i don't know whether to stick with my original plan of meltingdown about kstate playing poorly, or if i should switch to making fun of Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) posters.  i enjoy making fun of retards, don't get me wrong.  but during apple harvesting season, you eat apple pie.

It seems like it.  The one thing I grew to expect from Frank Martin teams is effort and intensity.  And the trend is when the going gets tough, this team slacks for a significant stretch in those two areas.  They let bad offense lead to bad defense.  Frustrating to watch, and its pretty clear Frank doesn't know which buttons to push to fix it right now.

he might try not pushing buttons.  like, quit trying to prove points during a game and just win a f'ing game.

it's hard because he needs to do it, but you can tell there are just too many points to make.  he can't leave people in there flailing about like idiots on one hand, but on the other hand his subs go in and immediately do something else he needs to make a point about.
“They said something along the lines of ‘it kind of sounds like you’d be interested in it.’ And I said ‘hell yeah I am. Why not?’” -Doug Gottlieb

Tell me about it.  Hit the big 32 today.

Anyway, you should try it after the Mizz game.  Who knows, pinning down retards may prove to be invigorating after you are able to get your meltdown out.  :dunno:

you have to admit that lineup at the end of the half was pretty bad (although Myles made some nice plays before he was joined by Southwell).  I mean, I have no problem with all of those guys playing.  I just prefer it not happen all at once.

Still, no real excuse for the second half.  But still.

This is what pisses me off. How hard is it to rotate one or two of our sucky players into a line-up with at least 3 good to decent players? There's no reason to have our worst 5 on the court all at the same time.

when you only have three active players that are clearly better than other players on the roster and two of them have two fouls with a couple minutes to go in the first i kinda expect to see an odd collection of players on the floor.  it's also Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) to harp on it.  those two minutes didn't give up the other 10ish point runs, or prevent the bigs from rebounding, etc.

two minutes out of 40 minute, 6 pts (maybe 6, dunno, 'cause the whole tp is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!)) out of 70something.  gmafb.

also, your no bcs offers since judge/mcgruder tp in completely factually inaccurate.  would have called you on it earlier, but there were a lot of distractions with the loss and the retards and everything.

i'm really mad about having to change my sig quote too.  the meek one was great.

I had a dream last night that CK came back and was skyhooking like 38 shots in a row and the team rallied and dominated the rest of the season and that the gon was the toughest place to play in the country. Then I woke up and remembered that you can't train a dog by beating him all the time. Sometimes you have to give them treats and handshakes. If Frank acts the same way in practice towards his players as he does during games, these kids don't know what to do. They get railed and benched no matter what they do, so what's the point. It was cute when they were winning, now it's old and tired. Frank loves the math teacher analogies--really? You teach kids math by destroying their confidence and telling them they suck? Whatever. He doesn't recruit, his players are starting to hate him and get in trouble off the court. Maybe he needs to go to Miami. Where is BoobyRuby when u need her anyways?

Ooh, nice outfit. What is that, Dacron?

So I might have been exaggerating a bit.  It's mostly true.

remember when Whitlock said that Wooly was a good coach, but didn't get mean enough to command the team to win?

Frank is mean enough, and we are now back to Wooly quality for now.

Whitlock thought it was Wooly.  Turns out it was KState.

There is absolutely no reason for any KU fan to berate KSU. Its being done at an excellent level already.

Disagree. It's something that is 100% controllable, even with our other shortcomings, and should never ever ever ever ever happen.

We'd be Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) not to harp on it.

I understand why Pullen, McGruds, and Judge were not on the floor.

But you could easily put Sprads, Russell, Irving, Samuels and Asprilla/JHR on the floor and be viable.  I don't care how pissed you are at those guys, you put your best options on the floor, especially when 3 of your starters are out.  Sure, Myles came in and had an immediate nice drive, then proceded to not play defense on the next possession.  Still, we are up 4, and go down the floor and throw it right to CU for two lay-ups.  It was ridiculous and was totally on Frank.  Call a timeout and get the guys collected when you are up 4, if you have to tell them exactly what you want them to do.

Myles needs to get his D down.  He would play a lot if he did.  He has the speed, gotta think it is a want/understanding thing at this point.

I am still riding the Myles bandwagon.

just rewatched that segment.  you people are even more ridiculous than i remembered.  the 9 pt lead was largely built with myles, irving, russell, samuels and jhr (pullen replaced russell for the last 2 points).  why aren't you tards bitching about playing that crap lineup for 5ish minutes?  then pullen & samuels + 3 tards lost 5 points of the lead.  why aren't you tards bitching about our having two of our best players give back 5 points in two minutes?  finally, for the last 1:30 asprilla replaced samuels (not because martin was mad at him, but because he'd been in the game for about 6 minutes straight) and southwell came in for pullen (not because martin was mad, but because he didn't want a cheap 3rd foul in the last 90 seconds of the half).

unless you're complaining just as much about the crap lineup that built the lead, y'all should stfu for complaining about the crap lineup that lost less than half of it.

Thanks for going back to look. Those last two TOs that allowed CU to tie were awful.

i'll also add that jhr not closing out on knutson (sp?) in the zone was also ridiculous.  asprilla forgot a guy as he was trying to get back in the zone that was horrible, even though the cu player missed the layup.  and samuels would have had the rebound off his missed fts if he wasn't concentrating so hard on grimacing so that everyone would know he was hurt.
