Just buy a nexus 7 if you want a small/cheaper tablet. It's better.

FYI, you can get the ipad 3 refurb for $379 from apple.com. Their refurbs are basically brand new.

and come w/ a warranty as if it were new. apple's refurb stuff are basically brand new because of the high cost to repair anything serious on their stuff. if something comes back with any real issues, it goes into the scrap heap, not the lets fix it heap.

went to the apple store yesterday and played with the ipad an ipad mini. I think the ipad is too big. I really liked the mini's size. but, it has the older processor and the screen is crappy compared to the full size ipad and the nexus7. now I'm back to being torn between the ipad and the nexus7. I want to play with a nexus7 before buying one though. bestbuy says they don't carry it because they don't make any profit on them or some bullshit. At 32gb the nexus 7 is about $350 cheaper than the full size 32gb ipad but I really like iOS and obviously the ipad is larger and will have more features. I haven't used an android device other than my EVO and that was a few generations of android ago. I think that whenever the mini updates the screen and processor that would be my ideal tablet but I don't know when that is going to happen and I kinda want this thing now.

the 10 inch ipad is too big for what?
i am the opposite b/c i think that the 7 inch screens are too small to watch full length movies/tv shows when traveling. why wouldn't i want the 3 extra inches (thats what she said). also love the retina display. thin enough to fit into carry on bag w/o taking any real room up.

I watch movies on my ipod touch when traveling so I guess I'm used to having a small screen but I wouldn't enjoy watching a game on it. the ipad just seemed large/heavy in my hands as I was holding it. the retina display is absolutely the tits though. the mini's screen looked like dog crap next to it. I don't know, tough call for me right now. the furniture mart has the nexus7 so I may go down there and compare it side by side with the ipad retina and make a decision.

i think those are cool, but haven't played with one IRL yet. i think it's a great concept, surprised apple didn't implement.

Woot had the Galaxy refurb on sale for $170. Bought one. Thought that I could either give it to my wife or throw it away for that price if I don't like it.
