I covered Cauley several times. I'm not going to be one of those retards that thinks he sucks, but he was really soft! Upshaw seems to be more of a Martin guy. I think we'll enjoy his lumber jack ways!

Wow, they really don't seem to be taking that well.

Though the official announcement isn't until 5pm, according to Coast to Coast Recruiting Robert Upshaw, a 7-foot center prospect from California, will choose Kansas State over Georgetown, Louisville, and his hometown school Fresno State. Upshaw, considered a raw and still growing prospect with the chance to blossom into a powerful big man, was ranked 49th by ESPN and the 10th best center recruit in the 2012 class.

The commitment of Upshaw would have fortified a thinning front line for the Hoyas, but alas Upshaw chose not to become the latest 7-footer to attend Big Man U and instead will enjoy his college years in scenic Manhattan, Kansas.  It's unclear how Upshaw was unswayed by the Georgetown staff's water into wine performance on Saturday afternoon when Henry Sims notched 19 points, 6 boards, 5 assists, and three blocks.

Though the 2012 class remains solid after the earlier acceptance of D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, the Hoyas have had recent near-misses with Kyle Anderson, T.J. Warren and now Upshaw.

The Class of 2012 remains as follows:

D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera – G – 6'3'' – 215lbs
Brandon Bolden – F – 6'9'' – 195lbs
While there are remaining targets for the 2012 recruiting class like swingman Devonta Pollard, big man Tony Parker, and wing Andrew White, it is increasingly looking like JT3 will hold onto his remaining '12 scholarship and save it to use for a star-studded group of recruits Thompson is pursuing in the Class of 2013.  Georgetown has two scholarships available for the 2013 season.
Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

I too am concerned about this kid's ability to merchandize speed.  Love 'clams idea about the parachute, and really do think we need to move forward with this.

Heard from a reliable source who is verrrrrrry close to the team, that upshaw had an excellent time :fatty: friday night and basically said he was going to come play for the ksu cats.  This coming from the same source who said JO has the biggest penis on the team. So take this info for what you will.

THIS is the kind of info we used to get directly from Frank, but I'm glad we have acquired another source.  Great work LLCAT.

So, we are going to sign like 5 or 6 guards in 2013 since we have big men sewn up for the next 3-4yrs?

Man, I love reading comments like the ones in this link. After the actual benefit of getting good players it is my favorite thing about recruiting

yes.  it should be glorious.  guards are more fun than bigs.

it feels great to be back on someone's list of most hated, most contemptible.

Yes. Helps ease the withdrawal from Curtis Kelly hate threads.

Could be all time most hated for G-town if we can get Al Freeman. (Currently on riding Upshaw high for general outlook - don't shoot me down just yet)

Just spoke with the mother of 7-footer Robert Upshaw. He has, in fact, chosen Kansas State. kansasstate.rivals.com/content.asp?CI…

feels good.

I'm not sure how to react to landing (allegedly) a Top 50 player again.

Like this:

I'm waiting to read the self affirming tweets from national bball writers.

"Big pickup from Frank Martin and company. Kstate signs top 50 recruit."

"Dalonte Who? Top 50 recruit signs with Martin and the Q@s."
