Who around here could use another mention? I know I sure could:

"Almost no college coaches have seen(6'9" 200 Combo F Kenny) Martin play as yet but that will change with two 10-day evaluation periods next month and with his very high ceiling of potential, Martin is sure to begin picking up scholarship offers. For now, Arizona State, Colorado State, Kansas, Kansas State, Ohio, Saint Mary's, Syracuse, Washington and Washington State are setting the groundwork."

How about the HS he goes to ?! :dubious:

For every mention, there is an equal and opposite non-mention(sorta)

"Kamari Murphy
Size: 6-8/200 |
Quick Take: Murphy had an excellent showing. His athleticism and length are impressive, and his body has made great strides in the last year. Offensively he does most of his work around the rim as he isn't super skilled, but he has a high motor and knows how to be effective. On defense he bothers people with his activity and long arms. Now that his strength is up to par, Murphy proved that he can be tough to contain at the power forward spot.

Recruiting: Oklahoma State, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Miami, Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, and Texas Tech."

yeah, seems weird that kstate isn't recruiting him.  they probably have reasons though.

In honor of summer recruiting can we rename the board The Land of Mentions and Honey?  :emawkid:

Needless to say, there are dozens of college programs who are interested in recruiting him.

"He's on a bunch of people's watchlist," said Grove. "Oklahoma State has been in quite a bit. Kansas State, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, you name the school. North Carolina, Ohio State, Kansas and Kentucky -- those people have come to see him. I just know a whole bunch of people are going to be watching him in July."

Grove notes that UNC assistant Jerod Haase has been to Kansas to see Cauley in action and the Tar Heels are expressing interest in the slender junior center, who has been compared to a young Lamarcus Aldridge by a few scouts and college coaches.

the unc journalist noted that he has been running with mokan elite.

It seems obvious that he hasn't been playing the same way in the summer as he did in the winter.  I've seen him play hs ball and he doesn't POP out.  He didn't get much national ink either and there's a reason for that.  However, it seems that everyone that has seen him this summer loves him.

Murphy update, favoring Miami, OK St, and Florida. No mention of the KSU Cats, I do believe this ship has sailed.

Ellis, just don't see it.

Cauley, OK, maybe. I mean UNC did fly all the way out to NW KS to see him play, so the big boys are after him, even if they don't know where the hell to go to see him.

Moose, generic? He'll be wreaking havoc on rims throughout the Dot this year*

Murphy mention from NE Hoops festival, also has pretty good writeup on Murphy's AAU teammate Daniel Dingle but I do not believe the KSU Cats are actively recruiting him at this time.he long island lightening,

connection i came across re. dingle.  he is a cousin of doug edwards.  daniel's brother dana is a coach w. the long island lightning.

Yeah, along w/Torian Graham, Shawn Smith, and DSR, Dingle was 1 of my passing obsessions in the Class of '12, 6'7" kid who can score inside and outside, also reportedly a decent playmaker. Never understood why we didn't/aren't pursuing him more, especially given the Edwards connection. Guess he's not long enough or athletic enough or whatever.  :dunno:

Of course, Iowa St fans will let you know without hesitation that Dingle isn't even the best player on his HS team, Okoro is clearly the superior talent, Rivals really missed the boat there by ranking Dingle instead of Okoro. Clone wisdom, it can't be denied.

Haven't seen KSU mentioned on this kid's list in a long time, 1 of many on his list for now, guess we'll see if our interest picks up at all. IU rivals dude who saw him play about 1 mo ago compared him to Jeremy Lamb :horrorsurprise:

"Sherron Dorsey-Walker is a 6'4 shooting guard out of Pershing (MI) who said he usually runs with the R.E.A.C.H. Legends, but went with the Michigan Hurricanes to the Bob Gibbons TOC. A talented player who can slide over to the one if needed, the class of 2012 standout already claims double-digit scholarship offers.

Dorsey-Walker listed offers from Michigan, Baylor, Florida State, Indiana, Dayton, Iowa State, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Oakland, and Minnesota. In addition, he said that he is hearing from Tennessee, USC, Kansas State, Xavier, and Michigan State."

Several schools are contacting Cauley and Suther ran down a quick list of the teams who have been the most active in their pursuit.

"Off the top of my head it's North Carolina, Ohio State, Kentucky, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Alabama, and the list goes on and on and on. At this point the kid is wide open and he isn't anywhere close to making a decision. Everybody is just working to stay involved right now."

I talked with Marcus at the NBA TOP 100 camp and asked him about the Jayhawks chances with him. He said that while they were on his list, that Texas, Texas A@M, Oklahoma, N. Carolina, and Baylor were his leaders.

kinda weird given the media reports that he'd cut his list to ou, ku, unc & ut.  but, this isn't the first person i've seen saying that those reports are erroneous, and that baylor, specifically is still involved.

this is from a dumbsticksite ku poster, btw.

Smart still often claims the whole Big 12 as his school list right now.

In Dave Telep's glowing ultimate competitor recap of Smart on ESPN today he expected Smart to visit OU, UT and UNC.
