Hyphen?  Yes/no?

It's hymen and yes, you do have one.

Anthony Cortesia is at the game.  Rumblings we are going to try to get a commitment out of him  :crossfingers:

He'll see Curtis benched and be like  :surprised:  :frown:

That kind of does worry me.  Glad someone we are recruiting saw the environment/win/amount of minutes given to freshmen/sophomore players.

Lee Academy playing in national prep showcase this weekend, pretty good opportunity for the recruiting services to take a look at APJC against some good competition.

Nope, per a Cassidy article from last week, his commitment was thought to be close but nothing official yet.

Anthony Perez Cortesia, Keith Coleman and Rodney Beldo each had 10.

Assume this means 10 pts in the first round of the National Prep Showcase.  Lee Academy lost to Thomas More 82-57.

Evan Daniels(Scout) on AJPC, we need sys to fill him in on how to properly say/write his name:

"Anthony Cortesia, PF, Lee Academy – There has been some buzz building around this 6-foot-8 fluidly moving forward prospect. He’s equipped with impressive ball skills, solid athleticism and a lengthy frame. However Cortesia shies away from contact and wasn’t real aggressive around the basket. It’s clear he has some talent"

do not understand why we are excited about this guy

You DO know the 40 means they haven't given him a rating, yet. . . don't you?

Link says 90 now.  When did this change?

Strenghts:
He's new to American high school as of the fall of 2010. He's a native of Venezuela. AJPC is a skilled wing player who fancies himself as a diverse offensive threat. He's got ball skills and a big wing span to go with a slender build.

Weaknesses:
There's a weight room on a college campus calling him. He's a guy who likes to play behind the line and we'd like to see him snap it off with more accuracy. Really, its his strength that will be the catalyst for his next move. He's got to show some intent on the defensive side and reasonably will be asked to guard small forwards.

Bottom Line:
This young man is a talent. The next step is putting the polish on the package. He'll be a kid who can score and is tracking as a high-major player. He's an extremely skilled prospect.

doesn't sound very JYC

Anthony Cortesia (Cumana, Ven./Lee Academy)
2012, PF, 6-7, 200 pounds
Skilled, 6-7 wings are always enticing on the collegiate level. Cortesia lacks strength but makes up for it with his swagger. The operative adjective is "upside" and he oozes it. He can handle the ball and isn't afraid to mix it up off the dribble. There's a lot to work with and he's a new name to watch for. Kansas State is worthy of early mention.

Not sure whether to be excited that we were mentioned first or upset we were mentioned last.

He indicated that Kansas State, Baylor and Marquette were the three schools that had been the most aggressive with him.

nice.

throw in Okie State and we're in business.

Smart visit to Okie State cancelled due to conflict. via sys' link

Class of 2012 four-star wing Marcus Smart said "basically the entire Big 12" when asked who had offered him. The 6-foot-4 tough man wasn't quite as involved as usual, but still made some big plays late. ...

More Smart, JYC to the core:

"Marcus Smart, SG/SF, Flower Mound Marcus: The 2012 four-star is one of the most difficult to describe. He's not the greatest shooter, he's not the greatest athlete, but he is one of the greatest competitors in the entire country. When a big play needs to be made he either makes it or seems to have a hand in it. He didn't score big in either game, but he did all of the little things that you would want a big-time player to do."

I think it's safe to call Dom a great athlete, don't know if he's ever been called a great competitor who does "all the little things" though.
