oh, i missed that nugget.  why does he have to pay the fee on a corporate card?

I didn't actually say that but sd is right.  the fee is optional.  you only pay it if you want to earn the points.

ours requires us to as well. I don't know if it's just for better accounting or what. Amex also does all of our travel booking which also becomes a pain in the ass at times.

we use a third-party system that sucks as well.  basically you say where you want to go and it goes, "hey, here's the cheapest flights to that place, but you better check southwest because I can't!"  then you check southwest, and southwest is cheaper, so you book with southwest.

I was approved for the Ink Bold on 7/15 and my card still hasn't arrived. After several secure messages back and forth, they said they couldn't extend the three month spend period, because it's set to expire 103 days after you've been approved. Even though it's their fault it hasn't arrived, they mushed me pretty good when I tried to get the window extended.

I'm guessing since it's a Sapphire that it's a similar 103-days-from-approval kind of thing.

it is.  learned the hard way and missed a spend bonus by a few days.  I argued that I had received the card on X, and was informed that the application (and approval) was on Y, and that the clock started then.  i called several times and escalated to no avail.
