Just updated all my point balances. still have 1,008,866 points/miles among various accounts even after trying my damndest to use as many as possible in the last 12 months.

yeah, but where do you turn? it's not like every other hotel group isn't doing the same thing this year. and their points are still the easiest to collect via churns.

yes, some of the high level properties are going up almost 100%. the thought is that they will get rid of GLON and AXON too as they announced a 5th night free redemption option for elites similar to Hyatt and SPG. and Rams is a dumbass in this thread. SPG and Hyatt have announced very minimal devaluations. The SPG points/$ redemption devaluation was super pud in comparison.  Hell, Hyatt's shift of properties had more properties going down a category than up. I'm going to be strictly a Hyatt/SPG guy from here on out. I'm going to book stays with all my HH before the devaluation kicks in at the end of March.

Is there a points bank where you could get interest on your points, but then the bank would loan out points to other people who need them immediately for a price (slightly lower than the actual cost of a room or flight), seems like a good idea (if one doesn't exist I'm trade marking the idea). Interest rates on points would be low, but better than just sitting in your account.

that's essentially what points.com does. it's almost always an awful deal.

Westin Ka'anapali and St. Regis Princeville going from 6 to 7. Stayed at the Ka'anapali Westin for 5 nights when it was a 5 in 2011. Was planning on staying 5 at the St. Regis on the next trip to Kauai  :frown:

Cancelled 5 cards last night. Applied for another Frontier card and another AA card this morning. Going to churn a couple SPG Amex cards when they hopefully bring back the 30k offer in August. May hit up an Ink/Ink Bold sometime between now and then. Considering the 50k Gold Amex offer and then transferring those to either Delta or BA. Completety abandoning Hilton. Makes me sad because they had so many ways to earn points (Virgin/Hawaiin/13 different Hilton cards). Actually, one of the best remaining Hilton redemptions is the HGI/Hampton in Manhattan on game days. Looks like they are going to stay 30k/35k and those go for about $200 on game weekends.
