anyone doing the 70k Delta Amex deal?  I don't really fly Delta very much.  people mock their miles alot because of award availability but I don't have a lot of personal experience in the last few years.  flew an award route years ago to Napa but don't recall how hard it was to get tickets.  apparently they also charge high fuel charges similar to BA on international routes.  plus $5k spend in 6 months. 

Delta is terrible unless you book at the last minute and spend way more than everyone else on the plane.  Unless you do that, you will be sitting in the back middle seat.

I'm not sure what seating has to do with it. do you not pick your seat yourself immediately when booking?

2.   Chase Southwest.  The Chase Southwest Plus and Premier cards now offer only a 25,000 point sign-up bonus instead of 50,000 points.  I’ve updated the links on the Airline Credit Card tab to the lower offer.

However, the 50,000 point offer has run ~4 times last year and every few months in 2012, so I fully expect it to be back soon.

The Southwest Companion pass is my favorite airline perk, and Emily and I have used our Companion Pass more than we intended to this year!

It used to be that way, but now if you book within a certain time period (no idea what it is) you always get the "seat assigned at gate".  This is through my work amex system btw.  It makes me crazy.  I yell at the ticket people every time to just give me a seat.  NWA was so badass.  Delta is

for domestic nonlux travel, it's a good deal.  easy to find, easy to book, lots of rooms at 15k, not impossible to find at 10k, points don't expire.  it's ca. $500 in easy to use room points.  sd, although a vile nazi, is right about using it though.  just get the bonus and move on.

It'll get you 3 nights in one of the beachfront holiday inn resorts.  Speaking of which, does anyone have a link to the 80K offer?  Getting ready to remodel the kitchen, so I'll easily be able to hit minimum spends for cards for the next few months.

Priority Club Pro-Tips:  They only have a limited amount of reward rooms per night for each hotel and they seem to run out pretty quickly.  The card gives you "platinum status" which is pretty much worthless.  Supposedly you can call 24 hours in advance and you're guaranteed a room at any hotel.  Catches:  A.) you can't use reward points for the stay and B.) the hotel can designate "special events" days and the 24 hour deal doesn't apply on those days.
