I have never opened this thread before, so sorry if luke'd, but I love my southwest card. I usually have the hook up with free flights through my buddy, but I love all the points I can earn by using it. This will come in handy for hotels.

So I just met the min spend on my AmEx Hilton Honors card, I go to check my account to see if the points are posted and I see this:AMERICAN EXPRESS POINT BONUS 60,000 02-Jun-2012 AMERICAN EXPRESS POINT BONUS 60,000 17-May-2012 They credited my account for 60 k twice!!!!

Thoughts on rumblings about a possible US Air/AA merger? Could be ridiculous for point hoarders if both continue to allow churning up to the point they merge the programs. I have read it took United/Continental about 2 years to get their programs merged. Could end up with a million miles in that timeframe between the wife and I. Easy around the world business class tix. A new hotel has been approved for Aggieville. Brand has not been announced but it will be located on the NE corner of Bluemont and Manhattan Ave, across the street from Coco Bolos and Starbucks. It will be 72 rooms, conference and meeting rooms, retail space, 5 stories, rooftop patio and underground garage.

American’s parent AMR filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Nov. 2011. The airline itself still operates largely as it did prior to the filing, but with some of the advantages the bankruptcy of a parent brings. Labor costs will be cut, along with debt service and lease obligations for airplanes. AMR says it plans to emerge from Chapter 11 as a viable airline. But that will not happen. US Airways (NYSE: LCC) already has made it clear that it wants to buy American’s assets. As soon as the rumors of a potential buyout started in April, some of American’s largest unions said they backed such a plan as a way to protect jobs. Earlier this month, US Airways CEO Doug Parker announced his desire to merge the two airlines. With US Airways probably willing to give AMR’s creditors a good deal to get American’s assets, the potential deal received tremendous support from bondholders and analysts. In May 1999, Phillips received 1,253,000 frequent flyer miles.Phillips calculated that the return on a mail-in food promotion outweighed the price of the Healthy Choice frozen entrees. He later discovered the same promotion also included individual pudding packages at 25 cents apiece. He subsequently visited ten grocery stores in the Sacramento area, buying every case of pudding available, totaling 12,150 individual servings of pudding,[2] for $3,140.[3] In order to divert attention, he claimed he was stocking up for Y2K.[4] The details of the promotion included a bonus if the packages were mailed during the month of May 1999; Phillips, unable to remove all the UPCs himself in such a short time, recruited members of the Salvation Army to help peel the UPCs off the puddings in exchange for the donation of the pudding.Phillips submitted proof of mailing the certificates and Healthy Choice Foods awarded him 1,253,000 AAdvantage miles.[6] Because most of the pudding was donated to charity, Phillips also received an $815 tax deduction

yeah, that is one of the legendary stories out there. did you see the video from about 40 pages back that included an interview with the guy that hired a bunch of people in some asian country to fly twice daily round trip flights on some super cheap route just to get their miles? amazing.
in the end, EMAW will always win.
