Can I opt out of the Avios scheme?

Also, when I call to activate the card can I confirm with them that I will get the miles after I meet the spend req? Or is that not something they would know?

got the AA citi visa and amex and was approved for both and confirmed for the miles too. You should be able to call the day after you apply with your application ID and they will let you know if you're approved and anything else you need to know

great news, small business saturday is back.  if you recall, last year your could register each of yoru Amex cards for this and then you got a credit up to $50 on each card for any purchases you made at a small business.  I bought $150 in booze on three different cards and essentially got it free.  non-chain restaraunts and any non-chain store qualifies.  Registration of cards isn't open yet.  November 26th is the day you are supposed to make the purchases but last year they extended it so you could make purchases for about a month.  Free money.

Another great thing about this is you can register multiple cards on the same account.  For example, I have 3 Amex cards.  But, mrs. dave has her own cards on two of those accounts.  So, we have 5 total Amex cards.  Each can be registered for this promotion individually so we are looking at $250 to spend between the 5 cards on the saturday after thanksgiving.  Free money.

Will you bump when registration opens?  So how does this promo get paid, as a credit to your amex statement?

I think it was a $25 credit for spending $25 or more at a small business last year. Hope they do it again, but I don't see anything that says they'll have the $25 credit promotion again. Just that they'll have a dedicated day again.  :dunno:

they will have already checked your credit (and it probably won't hurt it anyway) so the damage (if any, probably none) is done.  plus, given you applied at the link while it was live you may still get it.

SD how many rewards did you rack up when you put the 'ole jeep on the CC and then paid off that monthly bill, like a boss. (Am thinking about signing up for like 5 to 6 new cards next time I buy a new car and then meeting the min spend on them all when I buy the car then paying them off and raking in the rewards) :kstategrad:
