What's my best bet for a SW card signup bonus right now?

80k business card. I just got it to set up 2025 and 2026 companion pass. Hope my small business makes it!

My business didn't do so well the past two years so I had to cancel my cards. Mrs SF is starting a new business that will probably not do so well for the next two years, but after that my new business should be up and running.

Are you applying with your SSN, or do you have an EIN?

SSN. I did a biz card with a legit EIN once and it was 5x harder to get it approved.

SS number and I just put like $100 in business revenue for either selling stuff online or whatever. Mrs SF and I just reapply for 2 SW cards every two years to keep the companion pass for one of us. 6 or so years into do this and i'm not sure i've ever had more than a month or so gap of not having it.

I was the point person on an international family trip and have a cool 50k Amex points rolling in this month from buying the flights.

Also I switched to Amex daily driver because I still have a year cooldown on the sapphire bonus and used up all my chase points on my Asian sabbatical in a few months. Very happy I have joined this cc point journey, thank you to the cc sharks for believing in me.

Is the advice ITT still good? Thinking about getting into the game now that I (hopefully) will have more time/capacity to travel.

Nothing like the price on a flight in the Chase portal being 2.5x times the price on the airline website.

To get the value of Chase UR you basically just have to transfer them to a partner, right?

I don’t really need to transfer them to Hyatt as I already get the Marriott family discount.

I think it's good advice in general for your daily driver cc to be either a Chase Sapphire Reserve or Chase Sapphire Preferred. I'd start there and then look at a Chase Ink for Business.

What’s the benefit of paying for a Reserve then?

probably nothing outside of the bonus unless you travel a ton. move down to the preferred so you can transfer to partners. have to have one or the other to do so.

Has anyone tried or had any success booking a flight through Air Canada, British Airways, or KLM through a code share? I looked at transferring my UR points to them to buy international flights, but the same flights through the non-USA partners are significantly more expensive.

I booked one on Chase Travel the other day that was exactly the same price (SWA), but that is the first time I have found them to be the same.

Not codeshare, but just last week transferred UR to both AirCanada and KLM for international flights.  Transfer took nearly 4 days and had me worried.  My accounts with both airlines were brand new and maybe why it took so long. KLM will let you hold an award booking for 3 days so keep that in mind if you have transfer delays.

At a glance the only clear difference between those two is one is a $95 annual fee and the other is like $500. Is it just better hotel rewards for the Reserve?

You get more points per purchase with the reserve and there is a travel credit that helps offset the annual fee but I'm still not sure it's worth it if you're not a steve dave level spender

Have any heroes figured out the breaking point where yearly spend justifies the extra $400?

Thank you. I'd been considering flipping to the CSR. I don't travel enough on my own dime. Perhaps if I had to use my own CC for business but I currently don't. I'll stick with the CSP for now.
