Some presumably old man posted this on the Phog, and it made me cringe. So I'm paying it backwards, so to speak:
"My wife pays over 95% of my bills both personal and business. I do think most of the business stuff she does with checks. I believe she never uses checks for the personal stuff.
What very little I do pay for I usually pay by check. The person that cuts my hair I write a check to once a month. Dentist a couple of times a year. I bought a couple of suits a few months back and paid by check for those. I also use checks for campaign contributions and dues in different groups I am part of.
My wife and I both have gotten into the habit of carrying fairly large sums of cash around with us over the last ten years or so. Probably not a great habit. It is pretty rare that I do not have a few hundred on me--- sometimes more when traveling. 90% of the time we go out for dinner we pay by cash no matter how high the bill.
Credit cards personally I mostly use for gas, hotels, and online purchases."
