Yes, that's how you keep your URs when you close the card. Might just be between spouses, I can't remember.

Yes, they will refund your fee if you close within 60 days of it posting. We do that all the time.

I just move them to my other Chase accounts. Currently have CSP, Ink, and Freedom.

This is a stupid questions, but I digress.

My citi account shows that I have 58k miles available. My AAdvantage account shows I only have 27k available. I believe the discrepancy is because their systems don't communicate well, the AAdvantage should be accurate. I want to close this card out, so that I don't get hit with the yearly fee. I'm not going to lose any miles, correct?

Ok guys, looking a getting a new card for the business. Choosing between chase ink rewards (60,000 bonus after 5k spent) or capital one (50,000 bonus after 4,500k) capital one offers 2x points on every purchase.

Your AA miles expire 18 months after they are issued, except the clock restarts whenever you add miles. So if you cancel the AA card you've got 18 months to use them, or you can add miles to restart the clock.

How is Hyatt's point system? I might have chance to stay there quite a bit, and can't decide if I want to do a Hilton property instead. My next travel location doesn't have a Marriott property close, unfortunately.

hilton redemptions suck in the us and europe, afaik. but if you plan to travel to latin america you can get good value on hh points.

wouldn't it be best to abuse the hell out of your CSP since SPG isn't an option? in the article posted above about the andes, a lot of comments focused on hyatt devaluing the earned points

they are great. once spg goes away they will be by far the best.

the only problem with hyatt is that there aren't a lot of them. if you travel for work and go to places that aren't major cities a lot you will have a tough time finding one. but they have a lot of amazing properties for redemptions. and their low level redemptions are super cheap. 5k a night for the hyatt wichita and it's really nice (for wichita).

I have to use the corp card for work stays, so clams point about the CSP doesn't apply here, I just meant where I actually decide to stay and get points from the stay on my account.

I have a friend who is relocating to a new continent for work, and his job is going to put him up in a hotel for up to 60 days while he searches for housing.

He is not a member of any hotel rewards program right now--how can he get the most bang for his (personal) buck after 60 stays? Another way of saying this--how can he obtain the most absurd amount of points/free stays in this situation?
