Anyone have a lowdown on how to use Avios/Alaska/American to get to Honolulu over Memorial Day weekend without spending a kablillion miles? Have to go to over this weekend to get to a 'Cat fan's wedding (cc: @Kat Kid).

Trying to figure it out myself has been a bear of a time. All pro tips appreciated.

I've you've received the personal bonus (I did 4 years ago), can I get the biz bonus? Spend req?

I got the SPG Personal and Biz in July 2010. When I got rid of the Personal card I did a product change to the Blue Cash card instead of canceling it because I wanted to keep my Amex history. I was checking out my credit report today and noticed that there's not separate accounts for both cards. It just shows the card being active since 2010. I chatted with Amex to see what cards I've ever had and they said I've never been the primary account holder on the SPG Personal (only Biz). So yeah, definitely chat with them and maybe even check your credit report. I think I'll do another chat just to make sure, but looks like a product change might be a way around this if you happened to do that.

There is a British Airways direct from SAN -> LHR that I would like to book with AA points but it doesn't show up when I search on AA.com, instead they want me to fly to SEA and sit around for 8 hours.  What do I do here?  Just give up?

yeah, do this first. it's going away so getting one now is important for the 5x quarterly bonuses. also the Ink. Then you'll have the three chase products and can go nuts on other cards or do nothing else for a couple years and get them again.
