If you can get a credit card, I'd suggest you do. The quicksilver would be good,  since it gives your a pretty good cash back rate.  That way,  once your collections accounts roll off, your credit history will show a decent-aged account with a good payment history.

Ok. I like that. Car loan is being paid off today and it was through Capital One. So ill see what I can do after that's finalized. Thanks for the advice.

Don't listen to him about this, he doesn't know what he's talking about.  Your capital one online account also has a free fico score in it to help you keep track, but it doesn't matter much,  because I'm sure credit karma's is better.

I took a shot at it.  After reading the article, I could tell it probably would work for me.  They didn't auto-approve me, but called me for like 3 days straight.  I never answered (usually called when I was at work, and when the other times, I just didn't feel like talking to a credit card customer service rep).  Well, after ignoring them and giving them the silent treatment, I get an approval email.  Lolol... We'll see how many times I can get away with it.

I just got a United 50k offer in the mail. 

It said Decision Pending. If I got a targeted offer in the mail, why didn't they instantly approve me? 

just call them and they will. chase is super stupid about stuff like this.

They did exactly what he said they would. They lowered my Hyatt credit limit (which they had given me a high limit even though I didn't want or request it) and put that amount on the new card.

I am approaching 100K UR on the CSP.  I was snubbed on the Ink this past fall.  I think I may try again using the tips in this thread.  That would be my 4th Chase card. 

I'd like to get to 200K UR before I decide how to nab my fifth and last Chase card.

I just got an email from chase w/new referral stuff this week, so I just now used that to send you that referral instead of you using the one that's in the OP in case that one's expired or something.  It says you'll get it w/in 7 days.

I used my own name and ssn for the business and put down maybe $1-2K or so for the income.  Got a letter telling me they couldn't verify my company name, TIN and proof of address.  Called and explained that I need the card for my side jobs of llc members and that kind of lawyer for special projects, and needed the ink to keep those expenses separate.  Learned I should've checked "sole proprietorship" on the application instead of whatever I checked.  Sent in a utility bill to prove address and then called after a week of not hearing anything and confirmed some more info and got approved.  A few days after that I got a "not yet" letter and called and they had just crossed crap up in their system and my earlier call had been good enough and my card was already en route.
