so you can't transfer UR points and you can't use points received from joining rapid rewards but you can use the 25k that you get for signing up for their card.  sounds like i wasn't reading it correctly at first glance.

SW card bonuses count towards it, hotel program transfers count towards it (SPG, Marriott), UR transfers do not count towards it. There are 50k versions of the card periodically. I can send you a referral link to a 50k version if you want.

Most people I work with are pumped about the Marriott SPG merger, because most of them as Marriott points people.

no, that was done because barclays is bush league and nobody GAF about them. you aren't going to see competing amex/chase products. obviously I'm speculating.
