Club Carlson card getting much worse after June 1.  Currently any hotel you book with points you get the second night free. Using it 3 times for 6 total nights in ireland for only 115k pts or something like that. Essentially the sign up bonus got me 6 nights. Going forward only 3.

yes.  you don't have to cancel before the annual fee.  it's different with different companies, but there is a period after the fee posts where they will refund and cancel.  i think with chase it's 60 or 90 days.  hardly anyone cancels before the fee posts.

i've never done it, but i think even after than you can get a prorated refund of the fee when you cancel.

They waived it for me on a Chase United that I cancelled within the timeframe. I didn't even have to ask. They automatically initiated it and informed me it would be removed on the next billing cycle.

Went and did my TSA Pre screening today. Can't believe I've waited this long. I was out of my vehicle in front of the place at 11:08 and back in my vehicle to leave at 11:15. it was finger prints on each hand, confirm contact info, confirm I am not a hardened criminal, pay them $85 and I'm out.

I didn't have to but I did. there was nobody else waiting when I got there so it wouldn't have made it any quicker unless she would have made me sit there out of spite.
