once your status is matched just login to your mlife account and see if it shows up. if it does you will get a "tier" discount and closer to departure a "seasonal tier" discount that will probably be even better.

i used to put a fair amount of spend on it for the 2% cash.  last year or two i've had better values on most spend (figured out portals)

fyi, you don't have to use the affiliated card to get the bonus at shopping portals. like, you can use the UR portal and charge whatever you buy to a different card and you'll still get the UR bonus points. maybe you already knew that but that's how I read your post.

i knew that for the aa portal, but i thought you had to use a ur earning card on the ur portal.  will try using a non-ur card and ur portal right now.  thanks for the tip.

also the barclays arrival card is basically the exact same as the cap one venture except you get 2.2 cents per dollar spent (actually 2 cents but you get a 10% rebate on miles when you use them for some reason)

yeah, but they're barclays.  take the bonus and run on that card, imo.  cap one is easy to deal with on the fee waivers.

Need a new card I can bonus on wedding spend.  I am at 180k AA miles and would like to continue to dump into that for a couple first class round trips somewhere cool.  I am including the AA 75k bonus card I recently got in that number so I think a straight AA is out of the question.  Maybe a chase card that transfers well?

Question for HCCIQ types. I got the CSP this year, and it's been great, getting airfare/hotel for week long trip to LA in a couple of weeks. With the recent revelation that Chase is going to discontinue the annual dividend, is this the best card for me going forward? The wife and I usually go on one week long vacation each year, and possibly a weekend getaway to see friends. We don't spend an exorbitant amount of money, so we only use one card, and try to use it for all expenses. We don't really care about staying in nice hotels (ex. staying in a Candlewood Suites in LA), and we always go for the cheap flights. Is the CSP still the card for me going forward? I'll hang up and listen off the air.

If you just do one trip per year you can probably do one southwest card and one hotel card per year and be good to go. If you don't want to get new ones the csp is probably the best.

the dividend isn't worth much. it's still the best card for everyday spend imo.
