yeah that was pretty funny. i don't think it's true though. i'm pretty sure there are probably other ways to get hilton gold for free. if i didn't already have it, i'd probably google it.

yeah, I transfer all my ink UR points to my sapphire preferred UR account. also my freedom points. I'm going to get another ink later, move the sapphire preferred points there, sign up for another sapphire preferred, move the ink points back there. that's, like, over a billion UR points.

The 20% "discount" on travel is kind of a sham, too.  You can find just as good rates and mostly better buying directly from the airline, IME.  Same on hotels.

Yeah. Sometimes you can find better deals than standard awards if you absolutely have to use points, though. (At that point it's probably a good idea to use cash instead, but still)

i have basically used my UR points to purchase direct southwest flights to vegas for bachelor parties and phoenix for cats bowl games the last couple years (no other airline flies direct to those places out of MCI). actually not basically, that is exactly what i have used my UR points for.
