I've gotten the AA visa before.  Really wish I hadn't so I could do this.  Finally talked sdbro and mrs. sdbro into both doing the SPG thing last night.  They are flying to Hawaii next June first class both ways using the BA miles I talked them into and staying 9 nights on two islands basically free now that they are doing th SPG deal.  Trim has awful luck with this stuff.  In the back of my mind I think he's not signing up correctly similar to that berford guy trying to sign up to the message board.  I hope AMEX poster intimidates him when he calls again.

I got the SPG personal and business cards. Just paid for my $1000 spend on the personal account on Thursday and my SPG account shows the points for that spend right now. I almost hope they screw up so I can call and bitch and get more points.

understand what you are saying about the airline miles stuff but 75000 AA miles just for getting a card and using it a couple of times is insane. it'd be enough points that if you planned in advance, you could fly two people to that cancun bball tournament in 2011. the key is just planning far enough in advance. you obviously wouldn't be able to use them just any old time.

i believe that these convert 2:1 to hhonors. that means that you would end up w/ 150,000 hhonors points. good for 6 nights at mhk hampton inn or whatever else you want.

hhonors is not holiday inn/houlihans (don't know if you were referring to this or maybe some magical aa miles conversion thing that im not aware of)

yeah. you can change aa miles into priority club points. 75,000 aa would come out to somewhere around 60,000 priority club points.

Info on Posting of SPG 30,000 Points and My July Churn

Just an FYI for your readers regarding the 30000 starwood point bonus. My first statement closed (with the $1000 min spend) and I had noticed that my starwood point account had a 10000 point open bonus. Of course I was concerned that they gave me the wrong promotion given that the app stated 30000 points after $1000 spend. After secure amex email message they assured me the additional 20000 points would post in 8-12 weeks after the spend requirement is met. Thought this might save some hassle for your readers if they saw the same thing.
