I'm going to Kauai the first week of November, four nights at Grand Hyatt and two nights at the Sheraton Resort

It seems like a good use of avios for a major trip instead of Kauai. More miles, but a little more availability and flexibility. Cabo could be an easy long weekend on a warm beach with minimal planning paying cash (in addition to Paris). But Kauai and Paris couldn't really happen in the same year.

take a note, breeders. poor michigancat could already be retired and living half the year in kauai, half in paris & half in oakland if he hadn't had kids. instead he's working his fingers to the bone, can't go anywhere on vacation and isn't even saving anything in his 401k. what a horrible mess he has made of his life.

you can't book at Regis with that amount of points but could have (previously) booked the Westin a couple. Either way I'd stay at the Hyatt for the 4 and stay anywhere up north for the other two. It's not a long drive but is worth it to not have to do it.

I'm poor too. Which is a much better excuse than the BS that no place is better. Paris/Cabo two trip plan is better than Kauai one trip.
