Alright, closed on my house, ready to get nuts and let the credit checks fly....

Have: CitiAA, Chase Sapphire (canceling soon...called in and said they didn't have an offer to reduce annual fee but could switch me to a no-fee Sapphire)

Had: Chase SW RR (+2yrs ago), SPG Amex (1.5yrs ago), Chase BA (~2yrs ago), Chase United (+2yrs ago)

Same, except...

I have:  Chase Freedom, Cabela's, & Bass Pro (I might be a redneck?)
Wife has:  AAA card

Monthly we probably put $3k+ on these cards.

My folks are retiring to close to Portland, OR, so I'd like to amass points useful to flying from MCI to Portland.

Oh I forgot also bonus if this same airline flies to West Yellowstone or Jackson, WY, as the folks are also building a summer house there.

nobody flies to west yellowstone. you can get to Jackson with United via Denver or Delta via SLC but it will cost you +/- $1,000,000

If you're in DFW you need to get a BA card.

Had the 100k one about a year ago. Time to re-up on the 50k offer (I'm guessing there's one, bc there's always one, right?)?

That is a prank that took a while to play out. Kudos to whoever dropped that one. Reminds me of the bro that kept getting registered for gay porn mags. Nobody ever confessed to that one.

So....what's the expected rate of return if you bust your ass hustling these cards?

Like, $30k annual spend will yield $xx dollars in rewards, discounts, bonuses, miles, etc?

its varies so so so much. no one will be able to answer this with a dollar amount but my answer is a lot. youll save a lot if you do it right.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

if you do it right and book travel right and don't mind valuing your 1st class travel as $ return and not opportunity cost type return then I'd say about $20k a year for a married couple.

I would say as a fairly new user that doesnt do too much of the churning etc I probably saved $5,000ish last year.  Thats basically all domestic Southwest flights and then hotels.  This year will probably be a little bit more.  Just haven't been able to find the right time for me and Lady BR to do a good international trip.

yeah, you can get to really ridiculous $$ figures if you start adding up international first/biz class flights.

One and it sucks. Guide me Fellas.

Sign up for all of these:
American Airlines Citi Visa
American Airlines Business Visa
Starwood Amex
Starwood Business Amex
Delta Amex
Delta Business Amex

Use them each once and then cancel all of them except for the Starwood Amex.  Use the Starwood Amex for every purchase you make and pay it off in full each month so you don't pay any interest.  In a year call them and tell them you will cancel unless they waive the annual fee.  Here is a database on what you get and what you have to spend along with links to each:  http://bit.ly/frugal-database  You will end up with a free American Airlines fligh, free Delta flight and anywhere from 2-6 nights at a starwood hotel depending on where you are going.

SD is this still a good list?

Also I saw there is a baller British Airways offer too?

If you are trying to go international get Chase Sapphirre preferred first since you have the freedom.  That way you can transfer those points to good airlines or hotels.

If you are just looking to make all your flights around the US free for you and the spouse I would probably just snag the two SW cards right away and work on that Companion Pass.  Cant do all three of these at once though since they are all through Chase.

Ok, international would be Bahamas most likely.  We really don't travel/fly for pleasure except maybe bowl games or some other random crap.
