the delta direct to DTW is nice but it's a 1.5 hour drive to and from the airport and doing that flight all year would only get me to Gold.

delta used to have a MSP->FNT which was perfect but they got rid of it so ATL is the only option now. MCI->ORD->FNT is a much straighter shot.

Premier 1k is definitely great. I've never gotten but a coworker called it life changing (or maybe that was platinum). Get the Tortas Fronteras app and avoid the lines.

yeah I'm OK leaving my kids for a full week 2-3 times per year. but I totally understand where you're coming from.

Also I think a flight from Dallas to Houston/Austin is a poor use of time/hassle based on the google maps 3:17 estimate from Dallas to IAH but of course this depends on where in Dallas and where in Houston and which airport and if you're renting a car and how much you hate driving/traffic.

when I was a kid I flew direct from ICT to MCI. I think it was on Vanguard on a stupid cheap fare and it was hilarious to me at the time.
