Losing Shane is losing one of our shooters. We need an immediately eligible transfer that can shoot the long ball. I have heard Edwards shoot has improve but I would really like another swing that can fill it up for us.

I would be stunned if DJamer went anywhere.  He is fine in what should be  his role, a good 5-7 mpg energy player

More on Atwood

Quote
Willie Atwood, a 6-8 forward out of Connors State CC (OK), has seen his recruitment pick up during the second half of the season. Atwood, a Memphis native, has a mixture of mid and high major interest and offers, with more coming in daily.

He is currently 16th in NJCAA D1 in points per game at 21.1, and 33rd in rebounding at 9.3 per game. Atwood is shooting 58% from the field and 78% from the free throw line.

Post players are always in high demand, especially when you get past the November signing period. High school bigs are usually gone and many coaches go the JUCO route to find the best available unsigned prospects to lock in for the April signing period. Here is a look at who has offered and who is showing interest. Many of the schools showing interest in Atwood are very close to pulling the trigger. These lists are in no particular order.

Offers: Wichita State, Marshall, Western Kentucky, Murray State.

Interest: Iowa, Kansas State, Arizona State, Gonzaga , Oklahoma , Oklahoma State, SMU, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Arkansas , UCF, Oregon State

@BenMitchum: @call_me_WALLACE K-State (oscar Weber) was at Connors State today to watch Willie Atwood (6-8/F/2014) practice.

It is a JUCO so I am assuming Brooks is the lead.

Would love to land Clarke and Atwood to round out this class (I'm assuming that Jack Krap will be Bruced). That would make us deeper with quality talent than I can remember in my lifetime. Obviously not a lot of NBA talent, but solid Big XII basketball players across the board.

We're in on Atwood and Clark, maybe Atwood is a backup plan for if we don't land Clark, who knows? I feel like we're pretty set at 1-3 next year, but we need some depth down low.

I would put DJamer on the list of leaving before Nigel.

Probably quite a bit tougher on Nigel having played early and then having his minutes slashed instead of never having the minutes to begin with.  I like him but we probably need to balance out our classes some so if he goes, I'll get over it pretty quickly.

I liked Nigel pre-Thomas.  Post-Thomas, he does a lot more stupid crap on the floor, i.e. bad passes and turnovers.

My theory - minutes are cut, so when he's in, he's pressing to make plays.  With Will gone, his minutes will jump.  But, i'm still not sold on him yet.

Any word on when Marvin Clark is making his decision? He'd be a good pick up.
