i'm gonna get a wil myers rays jersey and wear it to every game. then i'm gonna laugh when we fail to make the playoffs the next two years and trade shields at the as break next season because we are already out of contention. it's gonna be fantastic.

85 wins would be quite an accomplishment, even in this division, but I'm not sure that even gets them the 2nd Wildcard.

Yea I don't think that gets the wildcard.  With the Astros joining the AL west it pretty much guarantees that there will be a wildcard from that division.  We won't get to feast on easy wins like those teams.

yea i agree, but the royals also had a losing record to them last year.  and that was a pretty bad twins team.

yea i agree, but the royals also had a losing record to them last year.  and that was a pretty bad twins team.

That was a pretty bad royals team if I recall correctly.

nah. i love the royals. just need to keep any optimism in check.. its detroits division and we wont win the wild card.

Half the teams received no votes at all. It's not a big deal but it's nice to hear three other execs think Shields and Davis will make big impacts.

I hope (maybe against hope) that the Royals have a good season. I think they have a real chance to do so. If they crater (a result to which I've become accustomed, hope or not) David Glass needs to GTFO and sell the team to someone who is really committed to consistent success in KC baseball. There simply is no excuse for the Royals not making the post-season since they won the World Series in 1985.
