Giants also had the NL MVP at catcher, and a career, albeit drug fueled, year from Melky Cabrerra to get them to where they wanted to go.

I was looking at the 2010 Giants.

Look, I'd rather have Wil Myers be a complete stud in RF next year and have Anibal Sanchez or Brandon Morrow as our ace just like everyone else.  This just seems very farfetched because the Royals have NEVER spent money like that.  It would be completely unprecedented.  I have simply come to accept the fact that in order to acquire a legitimate starting pitcher, the Royals will probably have to move a player that is coveted by not only the organization but also the fans; because by no means have they shown the ability to acquire said pitcher in free agency, or develop them in house.

Pretty sure he's lying.  The revenue sharing alone is over $40 mil...  If he's only making $30 mil from tickets, apparel, etc he sucks balls and taint.

I still have fun at the K every summer.  Major League Baseball in your town is worth supporting.

Rumors today say they're not in on Dickey now, Shields appears to be the top target.

How? Not only have they not made any effort in 25 years to become competitive, they've actually made an effort to be LESS competitive.

Despite my anger towards management and ownership, I am a baseball fan.  Professional baseball, in my hometown, 15 minutes from my house, is worth going to see.  I would rather have awful baseball than no baseball.

In my opinion, its worth the entertainment dollars.

Agree, I'm content going out to the ball park 3-4 times a year. No better way to spend a tuesday night in June if you ask me.

If we ever did become competitive or god forbid be in a pennant race in August/September I would probably start going to 10-15 a year.

What sucks is that we're all calling for Glass to sell, but who is to guarantee that the next owner stays in kc?

Not in this economic climate.  No one is building a stadium.

Not for a horrible team that hasn't won for over 25 years.

The old boys club of baseball owners would not let him near a team under any circumstances.

The Koch presentation on campus this year started out with them saying they weren't buying the Royals. It was very weird, in a "Mark Mangino removes his name from consideration for the Notre Dame job" way.

Yup. New t.v. contract will make owning a MLB team really cush.  He will never sell. Will pass it on to his incompetent son.  Just our luck

Offered Dempster a 2 yr/26 mil deal, Boston offered $25 mil.  Both were declined.  Dempster wants 3 yrs and will likely sign with the first team to offere.  The  Brewers are the only other strong contender...

omg the Bo 30 for 30

I was OBSESSED with him when he was with the Royals.
When one person, for whatever reason, has a chance to lead an exceptional life, he has no right to keep it to himself.
