Looks like 3/25m... little steep, but probably no more than the market demanded

why is everyone so excited about Guthrie? did he have a great second half with us? i didn't follow the royals much in the second half, and he seemed pretty pud when he came from the rockies.

"Guthrie blossomed with the Royals and went 5-3 with a 3.16 ERA in 14 games. The team had a 10-4 record in his starts."

Would have preferred a two year deal but with how the $$ is structured its a little easier to stomach. Definitely a step in the right direction. Wonder who is going to hit the road for us to get our #1-2 guy.

By Royals standards, he had a phenomenal second half.

I'd say keep Chen, he'll go the free agent route next year anyway and is probably worth 10-12 wins. Hochevar? Not a chance. Too inconsistent and can't seem to get past the 4th or 5th innings, even when he starts well. Trouble is, who will take him?

Wil Meyers name keeps popping up all over the place in trade rumors.  For some reason, I want him to stay with the Royals.  I guess they have a bit of a logjam in the outfield but Myers is exciting...

Small timey nature confirmed again and again.  Most teams would just eat the contracts and move on.

This is the article Petro was ranting about. Glass basically says he's broke even with the royals and even had to subsidize them a little.

There is a logjam of shitty outfielders. If the Royals trade Myers and still start Frenchy next season, I will not watch a single game.

Due to injuries, Getz played 64 games last year. Seems the Royals are not sold on Johnny G.

And Frank White, at his age, is not a viable option...at least at second base...but Frank as manager? Maybe. But the relationship between FW and the KCR are, to say the least, strained. The Royals need people in management who remeober the glory days, and what it took to get there.

Message to the Glass family: the Royals are not Wal-Mart.

Damn. Glad I got that off my chest. I feel somewhat better.

Hochevar tendered contract. I literally want to cry.
When one person, for whatever reason, has a chance to lead an exceptional life, he has no right to keep it to himself.
