Anyone else catch George Brett's mention of shitting himself??  He said something along the lines of "having poopies in your pants" or something like that.

he was great. Really ham'd it up out there.

yes, really good.  loved when he told Berman that Omaha wasn't in that direction.

Also, i'm all for giving Cano a standing O tonight.

This.  He took his beating like a man.
I thought he was a arrogant piece of crap. "I don't care about the fans". :BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO:

Yeah, I liked that too.  But, then he told Berman they were hitting balls in the direction of STL.  which was also false.

The K faces NE.

Pretty sure it faces 2 directions since it is 90 degrees. Also, WGAF?

I don't care that they booed, hell I've booed some ridiculous things in the OOD that normally would be absurd to boo. But what really gets me is that everyone on the radio thinks:

KC fans booing Cano = smart fans

Smart fans mean they know the game, not that they boo because some liar on WHB told them to. In fact I would argue the mob mentality, however fun and enjoyable it may be, is stupid.

Great, both dumbasses on PTI (Bob Ryan and Adande) thought we were booing Cano because he was a Yankee.  Good grief.

BTW Bob Ryan spits so much when he talks.

Keep melky until Cain is good and damned ready.  Nothing wrong with keeping butler as a DH as long as he's reasonable about his salary.  The Team needs starting pitching, and will have to go to the free agent market and spend some cash to be competitive.

Billy is in the 1st year of a long term deal. He's not going anywhere. As far as Cain and Melky go, Cain is ready - he's batting over 300, OPSing over 850 and playing a great center field. But Melky is playing his ass off. I believe Melky signed a one year deal with a club option for a 2nd year. If I'm remembering that right, we will pick up that option and keep him around another year. I'd rather trade Frenchy, shift Melky to right and hand center over to Cain.

We desperately need a frontline starter, but this year's free agent class is pretty sorry. Best bet is to try and package a trade for someone like Clayton Kershaw.

Limestone and Applejack All-Star Pak at the K?

Color me jelly.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Long but good.  NYT on KCR.

Haven't read it yet but somebody on 810 was talking it up as one of the best articles on the Royals in a long time.

I read it with the tone of the SI article about Futility U. Except this article attempts to make you think the Royals are turning it around a little bit. Futility U did no such thing.

Futility U is a fun read knowing how awesome our Cats have been for the last 2o or so years.  I can't imagine what it would be like reading about it as an outsider at the time of it's publishing.

Thought this was interesting...

"Pirates vs Brewers: Zack Greinke Slated to Start Third Consecutive Game -

The headlining story of game one will almost certainly be Zach Greinke of the Brewers, though. After starting against the Astros on Saturday, Greinke was ejected in the bottom of the first after just four pitches. He started the next game on Sunday and pitched in just three innings, allowing five hits and three runs.

Now Greinke is slated to become the first pitcher since 1917 to start three consecutive games, as the All-Star Break has aided his cause."

Good for the Greink.

Also. I love the Royals when I intermittently care.

In addition, I remember when it was Alex Gordon  Billy Butler  Hosmer  Moose Tacos  Alcides  now Wil

When do we get good? LR/MLBIQ. I just remember all the chatter about those boys in baby blue, but still the team invokes full grown blues.
