Anyone who is upset about booing Cano is flat out wrong. He deserved what he got. I feel bad for his dad, who was probably really proud of his son for winning last year and excited to go out there and watch his son perform again. His dad probably felt like the booing was unwarranted. Cano, on the other hand, knew damn well why he was being booed. He lied, and KC didn't let him off the hook. We got in his head.
It stinks because on national television the announcers didn't help us out at all. They made it seem like he got booed because he was a Yankee. Without context, KC fans booing look like a bunch of jerks being mean to a guy doing charity on TV. ESPN should have told the real story, they didn't even acknowledge that the crowd was chanting "Billy Butler" during Cano's turn. ESPN made us out to be jerks, we did the right thing.
Cano will get booed again tonight, and Jeter and the other Yanks won't. Maybe then people will understand. Get it right ESPN. Go cats.
