JF is pretty good.

Also, it's pretty early, but Getz is having a pretty good year.

JF has a career 5% walk rate, JF is a career .743 OPS hitter he plays a decent RF defensively.  However, here are the players that played RF from 2010 to 2012 that were worth more wins than Franceour's 4 WAR.

Jose Bautista, Ben Zobrist, Justin Upton, Jay oscar, Corey Hart, Nick Swisher, Jayson Werth, Jason Heyward, Hunter Pence, Giancarlo Stanton (in 1.5 seasons), Lance Berkman, Torii Hunter, Shin-Soo Choo, Carlos Beltran, Matt Joyce, Nelson Cruz, Andre Ethier, Ichiro Suzuki, Jon Jay, Nick Markakis, David DeJesus.

Player most similar to Franceour?  Milton Bradley.

He is not good, he just doesn't completely suck.

i like felipe paulino. as a royal, his ERA is under 4. if they add a couple guys to join him and duffy, we might be looking at a .500 ballclub.

as for JF, i wish we would have signed melky and used frenchy as tradebait, but he's a decent placeholder for wil myers so long as he starts hitting doubles like last season.
"I started calling him John during the game, cause he was rocking it like No. 7 -- like Elway," Harper said."

Apparently, Frenchy is an incredible clubhouse guy and that's the biggest reason for his extension.  Dude is decent but he's most valuable as a veteren for the young guys to learn from.

Well as long as he isn't giving hitting tips to Hosmer and Moustakas.

Oh, they should still be using Frenchy as trade bait. Gordon, too.

I was thinking the same thing.  Dude has the stuff of a No. 3 but will never be anything more than a borderline No. 5.  Obviously I hope I'm wrong and that he pitches lights out for the rest of the year.  But i would much prefer another quick blow-up so KC can cut bait on this dude and move on.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Yea, he has an irregular amount of animosity for the Royals. Reminds me a little of Beems.

Dax, do you watch all of the games? Seems like it would be horrible to watch all of the games of a team you hate.

unfortunately, I was sorta hoping Boston got swept so Bobby V. could legitimately be on the hot seat.

Why does a thread about the Royals on goEMAW, resemble almost every thread on gopowercat?

Have I been told to follow a new team, or go cheer for the Yankees yet?

I feel like Broxton is just teasing everybody right now and his pitching is about to fall off a cliff.

He was bailed out by a terrific play from Gordon last night. He really deserved an L with that pitching performance.
