Didn't  Meier throw like the only scoreless inning?  I was kinda flipping around during that embarrassing ass game.

It wasn't the only scoreless inning, but I think he was the only pitcher that didn't give up a run.

You know who I really don't like?  Aviles.  He's not terrible but there's something about him that I just can't stand.

Hate him.  He should be banned from his asshat batting stance until he is batting closer to .300 than .200

Yeah, his batting stance is one of the main reasons I hate him.  I also hate how he stares out into the field like he's trying to figure out the LF just struck him out.

Aviles just doesn't look like a MLB player.  He seems awkward in everything he does on the field.  Still, you gotta give him props for hanging around the league this long.  It's more than a lot of ballplayers with better "tools" can say.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Things I don't want to see happen:

KC trades away productive players for little return.  While I'm open to a good deal for a guy like Melky or Frency. or even pitchers like Chen or Francis the return better be good.  KC has a pretty formidable offense right now that will only get better in the coming years.  Age 27 is usually when guys really hit their stride in the big leagues and we have a couple of guys getting there right now with more in the wings, and the younger crew are really good even so young.

I don't hold out  a lot of hope for Glass to allow Moore to try and acquire a couple of top end starters in the next couple of years but if he did KC could be an immediate contender.  Not to mention the young pitching prospects.  They won't all pan out and my fear is that that is what DG is forcing DM to bank on, but even if only 1 or 2 does and we can acquire a solid arm or two KC would e right in the hunt.

Aviles traded to the Red Sox for utility-man Yamaico Navarro and RP Kendal Volz (High-A).  I really didn't think that Aviles had any value at all.  Navarro seems to have some upside although he has struggled this year.  Seems like a good move.  Get a guy who can play all the same positions as Aviles and is 7 yrs younger.  I would still like to see them move one of Francis/Chen and figure out what they are going to do with the outfield.

According to the whiz kids on this board, I believe this officially makes Theo Epstein a Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!)

Navarro should be pretty good utility guy, I think he played SS, 3b, 2b, and LF for the BoSox in our recent 4 game series.

I had a feeling that bring Aviles back up signaled a move for him.  Dude has value simply because he can play about anywhere.  We got a similar (but younger) dude and a young arm.  Cool.  I'd hate to see them move either Melky or Frenchy but I think I'd rather see Melky go as he seems like he might bring better offers and Frenchy is a great clubhouse presence.

First blown save in like 2 months.  He's been unhittable since he regained the spot.

This one isn't on Soria.  Yeah, he blew a save, but as jt said, he's been great lately.  We had plenty of chances to bury them and we didn't.

No doubt he can hit lefties.  Just surprised GMDM was able to get what he did for him.  Potentially more than he got in the DeJesus trade.

Starters have given up 2 ER in the last 21 innings.  Can't ask for more than that.

Maybe Boston was impressed with Aviles' bunting ability

The lineup is really starting to look pretty good.

Current OPS team leaders

Gordon - .872
Butler -   .831
Melky -   .805  and his OBP is up to .340
Francour - .790
Hosmer - .778

Currently 6th in AL team ops as well trailing only Boston, NYY, Texas (these teams are far and away the best offenses in the league), and KC is creeping up on Toronto and Detroit.  Add some starting pitching and this team is a contender 2012 and on.  The offense is only going to get better.

Also, get ready because Johnny Giavotella, who has been raking in the minors is about ready to come up and take at batz from Chris Getz.

Yeah and that kinda sucks, I like Getz alot.  Dude plays hard, just wish he was a better hitter.  Watched Gio play a minor league game a couple weeks ago-  dude looks really good.

If you live in Wichita, Cox 22 has been showing like 1 Omaha game a week.  Kinda sucks though, because the viewing guide hardly ever says when they're one.  I just check it around 7, when I happen to think of it.
