Since Hoch is so good for 3 innings and so shitty after that I'd be all for him being moved to the pen.

Pretty classy of Verlander to let Crow ride on his charter flight out to the ASG.  Guess Mauer did the same thing for Verlander earlier in his career.

Just talked about it during the game.  Verlander chartered a flight for him, team, etc.  Said they had room so he asked Crow if he wanted a flight since they were leaving from KC anyway.  Seems pretty classy to me.

oh ok. I didn't see your edit in time. Was wondering why it was Gordon. Crow makes sense.

They talked about it during a Gordon at bat, so I kinda mumped that up.

Any idea why they didn't sac bunt Hosmer to third in the ninth?  Seems like that would be better than letting Frenchy swing away and then have Hosmer try to steal afterwards.  :dunno:

Don't know, a lot of MLB players can't lay bunts down really well so that may be a reason. Maybe Yost thought Frenchy would come through with a hit or a ground ball to the right side of the infield. Didn't have the best of angle but Hosmer looked like he got his hand in there before the tag.

On one angle it looked like Inge may have blocked the bag with his shin.  And I'm not sure I've ever seen Frenchy bunt so maybe he is just really bad at it.  Guess they were just hoping for a 2 run inning, the whole "play for the tie on the road and the lead at home" belief.

I know most MLB managers are horrible. But goddamn if Yost isn't near the worst.

Guess I'm just used to the Twins' style but I figured it was a no brainer to bunt the runner to third when you have no outs and you're down one in the ninth.  If you have a dude on 3rd with 1 out, it's pretty easy to get him home.   Even if Frenchy sucks balls at bunting, a sac bunt is pretty simple.  You can rough ridin' square around right away, everyone knows what you're doing anyway. :dunno:

I was expecting Moose to be a liability on the field but he actually looks pretty good at third.  :dunno:

He looked pretty shaky his first couple of games in the majors, probably  :ohno:, but I'm sure having a great fielding SS next to him and 1B to throw to help his confidence quite a bit. But yea, definitely wish he'd start hitting like he did in the minors.

I don't really think we brought him up too early.  Dude was just tearing up AAA.  He looked solid for the first few weeks.  Maybe he's just slumping a bit, everyone does.
