Author Topic: The Royals (Read 5862098 times)

I know fielding at 2nd base compared to SS is different, but I haven't seen "it" yet to make up for his lack of a bat. Bubba once was an "amazing prospect" too. Obviously not writing the book on his tale yet, but I've been very underwhelmed with whatever this franchise sees in him, other than him being a top draft pick.

He's a diet version of dyson at this point, who plays a mediocre 2nd base.

Hes not overrated, hes an amazing prospect who at 21 is not ready for the majors. Not all that abnormal, don't be so reactionary.

Someone overrated him by breaking spring training with him on the roster.

Bubba was terrible at all levels and was like 23 or 24 when he got to triple a. Mondesi was 20, obviously he shouldnt be in the majors but calling him dyson lite is ridiculous and hes a very good fielder at 2b. Hes super young, not everyone is gonna be mike trout or bryce harper at that age. It almost never happens

Mondesi is playing bad and needs to go down, but I'm not long term worried about him and he's not the real problem. Moss, Hosmer, Gordon etc are being paid to produce runs and are not. And don't let Cain's BA fool you, he's not hitting the ball hard at all.

Last night was worse than soccer.

Pffft. There is loads more excitement in a 0-0 soccer match than that game last night.

Yes those other three do. I'm a little glad most of the team is sucking so Gordo isn't sticking out like a sore thumb. I'm selfish that way.

Yeah i was listening to an interview with the bpRoyals guy and he was talking about Cain and his walk rate and number of infield singles. Eventually pitchers are going to start challenging him as he isn't hitting it hard and the walks will come way down.

yeah nothing gets the juices flowing quite like 90 minutes of light jogging and kicking where nothing ever happens

I enjoy watching dominant Royals pitching (yeah, I know Texas' offense stinks) and we saw that. I liked seeing Duffy plus Minor with a solid 3 inning outing.

It was just the other half of the game that stunk. We never even really threatened to score. I don't find that type of baseball boring, just extremely frustrating to watch.
