So Mondo & Paulo down. They are both going down because we need a 13th pitcher because the Pen has been used a lot with 2 extra inning games. My issue is last night, they clearly knew sending Mondo down was coming very soon. Yet Ned still let him lead off the 8th vs a lefty. I don't know if Whit would have done anything but it's clear his chances of getting a single or double are much higher. Then you have top of the order up. Gordon did go on to single with 1 out. Been nice to have seen Whit get a chance to get on base before the Gordo single. Everyone knew there was about a 5-10% chance Mondo was gonna get on
Omit the 8-3 loss to Oakland. 11 of the last 12 games, our starters have a 0.98 and Pen has a 2.36 ERA.
Yet we only went 7-4 with superb pitching all around. I do agree with FAN, it is lots of fun seeing our starters and some of our Bullpen pitch like a bunch of bosses. This offense has had 3 players produce. Everyone else has sucked. It was that way after game 6, game 10 and now thru 15 games. Hos has taken a lot of the blame (rightfully so) because he hits right in the middle of those 3 guys who are hitting well and has had countless chances to step up.
