Herrera signed, 5.3 million so no arbitration again this season.

We need to sign a starting pitcher before the season or we will suck. Kennedy/Duffy/Vargas/Karns/Young is not ideal.

Last 3 years, ERA about 3.70 in 90 starts

2016, 20 of his 30 starts went 5.0 or more innings, giving up 2ER or less.

If we can get Hammel to be "2016 form" we will all be pretty happy. Of his 30 starts, 4 of them he was not good (gave up 10,8,6,6). His other 26 starts he had an ERA of 2.43 and a WHIP just over 1.00. Allowed 3 runs 3x and 20x gave up 2 or fewer. Lots of games he gave his team a chance to win

He had some elbow tightness in Sept and struggled late in year. Didn't pitch in the playoffs because of this tightness

We've swapped Morales for Moss, and replaced Ventura with Hammel. That's an epic fail. As much as the roster got worse from '15 to '16, its gotten worse from '16 to '17. Hammel has never gotten anyone out in the AL and Moss is a softball player. This is a .500 roster IF Gordon, Esky and Moose return to '15 from. Worse if they dont.

The only upgrade is Soler in Rf. And that's an upgrade over a platoon situation. Face it folks, we mortgaged the organization in '15 to win the World Series, and are going to be mired with dogshit pitching for the foreseeable future.

You're saying this like the front office planned on replacing Ventura with Hammel. Their hand was forced and they had no choice. This is the best we could hope for after Yordano passed.

We no longer have Wader, Dyson, Ventura.
We have Soler, Hammel, Karns, Moss.(Big Mo was already gone just like Eddie).
We also signed Duffy so he's making about 3-3.5M less in 17 than he would had we gave him 1 yr deal

Our 17 payroll is about 15.5M less with the 2 trades, Duffy new contract, and 3.5M from ACE contract.
Then Moss will make 3.75M this year. Plus whatever Hammel with make in 17.
Our payroll is less now by a few Million with all those moves/circumstances.

I think Dayton had a very good offseason.
