There's a 'Remembering Yordano Ventura' thing on FSKC right now. It's from 7-10 tonight. I went ahead a few days and don't see it again

Yeah I didn't see it until I posted that and DVR'd the rest of it. I only watched a few minutes and it was just him pitching, so idk what else it has. Hopefully it will be on again.

Not yet. But might as well start it/chime in.

Would be a cool thing to try to end a game quicker, but idk, the more purist part of me doesn't like it. It would be nice for a team to earn it properly. That being said, it favors the Royals the way they are built massively to do such a move so, hell, idk, give it shot.

I recently read this in an article about proposed rule changes. I don't know if it will make games end any faster since both teams get it. IMO there are better ways to improve pace of play and length of games.

Wood last 2 seasons....

Lefties hit .184 with just .272 Slug
Righties hit .240 with .435 slug

Overall in 2016, they hit .199 vs him as Reliever
In 2015, they hit .207 vs him as Reliever

He was a starter in 2012-14 (no relief appearances) and then 9 starts in 2015.....
Nothing really that great. Overall in those years had a 4.15 ERA.
Best year was 2013 when he had 3.11

I like the signing. It gives us a 6th starter on the roster. He can battle with Karns here in S.T.

His last 40 starts, his ERA is 5.04, so if he ends up starting in the Pen, that's fine with me. His whole career, he has done well vs Lefties and last year he was just filthy vs them (.128 Ave allowed)

2.79 ERA out of the bullpen the last 2 years (119 innings). Hochevar last 2 years were 3.78 in 88 innings. Herrera 2.73 in 141 Innings.

KC Pen likely to be 7 strong on opening day. Herrera Strahm Soria Minor CY & Wood(or Karns) will be 6 baring injury. An upstart pitcher may grab the last spot and Flynn may be in Omaha after his DL stint to start the season.
