Duffy, Kennedy, Ventura, and Vargas had a combined ERA of 3.60 after the All Star break.

Duffy went his first 12.0 innings as a starter without giving up a run. Then had a terrible inning that broke up his perfect game. After that he went the next 16 games with a 2.50 ERA and 0.98 WHIP.  His final 7 starts didn't go as well, as his ERA was over 6 in them

Kennedy had a 3.03 ERA his first 10 starts. In his last 19 starts of 2016, he had 1 really bad outing vs Cleveland. The other 18 starts produced a 2.92 ERA.

Big Mo was awful for 49 games. Then was awesome the next 31 games. Then bad again for the next 30, before getting hot again the last 52.   Bad Mo combined for a .185 Ave and 23 RBI in 79 games.  Good Mo combined for .354 Ave and 70 RBI in 83 games

Hosmer first 1/3 of the season -- .327 Ave with a .541 Slug and 35 RBI
Last 2/3 of the season-- .235 Ave with a .378 Slug and 68 RBI.
Not thrilled with the Ave and Slug he had the last 4 months.  He did have 55 RBI on 61 hits after the break.

We were 63-23 when scoring 4 or more runs.  We were 27-4 on June 2.
i want to say we were 78-17 and 69-14 the past 2 years.

Home Runs and Steals--
2014- 95 & 153
2015- 139 & 104
2016- 147 & 121
* Teams only had 55 steals against us this year (Salvy you Stud)

@Powercat Posse

A treatise on Eric Hosmer
http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-terrible-horrible-no-good-very-bad-100-rbi-season/

CliffsNotes:

Quote
Lots of players have driven in 100 runs in a season before. Twenty-two players did so this season, Hosmer included. These players aren’t always good — RBI is more a function of who hits in front of a batter and that first player’s ability to get on base. RBI, as a counting stat, is also largely aided by the ability to stay in the lineup all season. Of course, players who (a) bat behind a talented on-base guy and (b) stay in the lineup all season — they’re usually pretty good. So it’s a surprise when one is so bad. Consider: a simple average of the WAR figures for this year’s 22 different 100-RBI players produces a result of 4.0 WAR. Hosmer’s -0.2 WAR is the worst by a full win. As it turns out, his season put him on the short list for worst 100-RBI season ever. He wasn’t the worst, but the fact that he’s on the list is worrisome, and you really couldn’t blame the Royals if they non-tendered him this winter.
:adios:

We can't send him or put him in the minors anymore. When a player is out of options, if they are sent to the minors, they must clear waivers first.   So if someone claimed him (and some team would) then we just lose him.

Burns is also out of options.  So there is a decent chance that Dyson will be traded in the offseason.  We won't carry Dyson and Burns on the 25 man roster.  Burns is younger/cheaper, so Dyson could likely have played his last game for us.

If they go into next year with a Gordon/Cain/Orlando/Burns outfield I will be pissed. When you're looking to Paulo to be an everyday player, and your other 2 guys are pretty likely to miss 30+ games every year due to injury, your 4th outfielder needs to be really good. Jarrod was fantastic this year any way you look at it, and is better than Burns defensively and offensively and as a baserunner. I mean, what do they think Jarrod will cost next year? 3.5 million? Worth it. One of the dumber things about baseball is how bloated salaries of guys like Gordon/Kennedy/Soria/Infante etc mean productive players like Jarrod get the shaft sometimes in order to pay for the overpaid guys.

Billy Burns is a garbage player who inexplicably wears a 1998 goatee, do not want.

Dyson arbitration value will probably be 3.2-3.5M, so he's not that much more expensive than Burns and his Half Million dollar value.  Dyson is the better player right now. I think everyone sees that.  Love to see Dyson on this team next year, it just seems like that isn't a strong possibility.
