Why anyone would be excited by this is beyond me. I'm about ready to call out Dayton in the real life fighting you thread. Wondering if Glass isn't telling Dayton he has to dump salary though. That would be a bad sign for the next few years.

Trading Wade only makes sense if you believe the Royals will not compete in 2017 with the group of players they have rights to, which is everyone on the team except Drew Butera. Obviously GMDM will not exercise the option for every guy, but he at least gets to choose which guys to keep.

I'm all for keeping Wade as option #1 (eye towards '17), but if we move him I would also like to get Kennedy/Soria/Gordo off the books if possible. Getting rid of Wade and keeping those three is pointless. No amount of prospects back is going to get the Royals to compete in '18 and beyond with those salaries on the books.

i mean, if they could get a guy like Giolito then u make that deal all day long. but that is highly unlikely, so we should wait till next year to trade wade
