It amazes me that all of you guys aren't sitting in an mlb office somewhere. Beyond me. Bright minds all around.

Chicat, tell us more about:

- why we should trade dick duffy

- how we could get suck town off the books

I mentioned Duffy when I thought he was gone after this year.  Given that I was wrong about that, definitely keep him. (I rolled back on that position pretty quickly when I was corrected)

I don't think we can get suck town off the books but he is part of $46m in guaranteed shitty contracts in '18 that we should try to get rid of.  Even if we just move Soria and Kennedy, we have a lot better chance of building a winning roster in '18 with $20m in shitty contracts than $46m.

If we sign a shitty Kennedy-level replacement, he will just screw us for half a season instead of 4.

If you guys don't want to be realistic about this teams ceiling for the future, then I can't help you. Some moves are going to need to be made to stay competitive for awhile. I know you guys want to run a dynasty like the Yankees, but it's not realistic.

no we want to use the best reliever in team history as something more than a vehicle for a salary dump because the team signed a league average pitcher to a bad deal

You have no idea the full extent of the deal yet, so stop being so damn dramatic.

Calling people idiots, because they don't agree with your opinion, is pretty rough ridin' stupid tho. I like action, this season is over, so this trade stuff is the highlight of the rest of the year to me.

CF3 if you owned the royals would you get rid of Kennedy and pay another guy with the same skills the same amount of money, only because the other guy had maybe less of a tooth gap? i'd say maybe i would, but the gap is kind of endearing

First thing I'd do as owner would be ban Nebraska Day at the K and all of the other dumb days that bug me. My tooth gap policy is obviously I'm pro tooth gap

Speaking of hypothetical ownership, what kind of a deal would you give hosmer? 7 years 125million?

how you give up less home runs is you move the fences back is how you give up less home runs.

I clearly remember bullpens filled up with Mike Macdougal type players. Jason Grimsley, Albie Lopez, Ambiorix Burgos, and all those losers we watched blow game after game. So, the importance of our pen is not lost on me. Without Wade, I don't think either WS appearance happens. BUT! Without selling Greinke, it doesn't happen either. And when we sold Zack, we sold him for young players with upside. Zack was on a team friendly deal, and we got back players to help us. We didn't use him to unload Jose Guillen's contract. So if we do use Wade as a way to unload Kennedy and not replenish the young talent, we've made a mistake.

But most of you already knew all of that

another interesting thing about that 2010 trade was that the royals lost approximately a million games that year and the approximately million seasons before that one, and obviously needed young talent for the future, because in 2011 and 2012 the royals were going to suck with or without grienke.
