Even with a hit Monday night, he is the runaway leader in outs across baseball, and, according to the awesome Baseball-Reference, is on pace to make more outs* than anyone since at least 1901.

* Escobar has made 220 outs, comfortably ahead of current runner-up Matt Kemp’s 207. This makes a pace for 566 outs on the season, which would knock Omar Moreno’s 560-out season in 1980 off the top line.
