Signing Zobrist was not realistic. He turned down SIGNIFICANTLY more money from other contenders to play for the Cubs. the guy wanted to play for Joe Maddon, and he was going to take whatever contract they gave him. He wasn't staying in KC or going anyplace else.
Can we quit pretending that the entirety of the free agent market was Zobrist and Gordon? There are other players.
