looked it up.  actually not entirely irrelevant.  spring training and bonuses are taxed based on state of residence.  so, i'm not sure how much money gordon is losing by residing in either kansas or nebraska instead of a state with no income tax, but it's a decent chunk of money.

but that's how much gordon loves either kc or lincoln.

Athletes have to file taxes in every state they play in and there are 21 states with a MLB team. Being an accountant for a pro athlete sounds like a nightmare.

Athletes have to file taxes in every state they play in and there are 21 states with a MLB team. Being an accountant for a pro athlete sounds like a nightmare.

Being an accountant regardless sounds like a nightmare.

To compound the issue, many states have reciprocal agreements with other neighboring states to not double tax income, but these agreements vary from state to state.

In summary, yes, Gordo will save a chunk of change on taxes living in KS instead of Cali during the season. 1.8 mil? Maybe. California does have pretty high taxes.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.
