Still no way Hosmer should have went.

makes perfect sense why he went.  do you have better odds of an errant throw to home plate or Gordon getting a base hit off of Familia?

I would say the odds are a lot better for Gordon to get a hit, but I really don't know much about Duda.

I doubt the odds are any better than his batting average. So, about 25% chance?

I'd say about a 20% chance of getting a hit.

Last 12 games of our season.....

Runs - KC 72 Opp 47
Ave - KC .268 Opp .204
W/RISP- KC 39-103(.379) Opp 18-86(.209)

We truly were dominant.  We ave 6.0 runs per game while being clutch w/RISP.  At the same time our pitchers limited them to just over a .200 batting average.

2 games we gave up 9,11 runs. The other 10 games we only allowed 27 runs and a .149 ave w/RISP

Every team is flawed, however the Mets lack of infield D, lack of bullpen depth, and lack of ability to create a run without a HR or a big hit, killed them.

Game 1 - Can't create a run late, dumb D leads to inside the park HR for Escobar
Game 2 - Didn't pull Degrom early enough, didn't have the arms to get from Degrom to Familia, cost them.
Game 4 - infield D sucked
Game 5 - infield D sucked, had 3 innings with a chance at a walkoff against pitchers not name Wade Davis, couldn't do it

It's really kind of amazing that they got as far as they did.

Terrance gore

Terrance Gore, let's face it, he probably will never hit or defend will enough to be an everyday player, or even a Orlando/Dyson type. I don't know what his MLB career will be like, but I'm not betting on him to ever be much more than what he is now. He wasn't even active on the WS roster.

However Gore to me is a representation of one of the ways the organizational philosphy has paid off. Value things other teams don't. Speed. Defense. Bullpen. Having him around is a testament to that philosophy.

I'm happy for him because he's worked hard enough to be a ballplayer. He's fast, but there's a lot of track stars, who no team would trust with something as valuable as an attempted steal in a playoff game. He worked, and here he is. I'm happy that he got to be a part of such a wonderful team.

Chris Young

I freaking love this guy. He was not even there when spring training began, and it seemed no team wanted him, and his career might have been over. He got his chance and jumped on it. I'm happy for him because it seemed to mean a lot to him personally to perform at this stage. I'm happy for him because he used his platform to honor his father, not only by his play but by his character. I'm happy for him because he was willing to be a team player, he sat for almost a month, moved from pen to starter to pen, and never complained (at least publically). I'm happy for him because he seemed to be a man content to live in the moment, and savor the journey. I wish more athletes were like Chris Young.

Also, he walks weird and its funny and I like that.
