probably should wait for september.  if medlen blows up you don't want to kill the bullpen with the small roster.  with guthrie, if he blows up, you can just let him blow up.

Yeah just sometime here so if Medlen looks good his first 2 starts, he has a chance to get 5-6 starts before postseason starts.   This way he is a possible #4 starter if injury or something else transpires.

Guts also 109 of 109 in Ave allowed, 105 of 109 on Slug allowed.

they'd probably have to restretch him out though, right?  he hasn't thrown many pitches since he came up.  they could start with piggybacking him with guthrie.

So who would start in the piggyback?

I watched some stinkers in the 2004-2008 era. The infield fly was plenty of entertainment!

Looking forward to the Red Sox series. We haven't fared well in bandbox stadiums, and get to face a relatively hot team on the road. I think we win 3.

Posse stat of the night....

The Royals have the best win % at home (.677) and on the road (.544) among AL teams

We also improved our MLB best 1-run games record to 20-11, and our 13-6 Inter-League record is 2nd best in baseball

I've fallen harder for Zobrist than I should given the temporary nature of this relationship and the fact that he's 30+

The BoSox have been scoring runs a lot lately. We're playing them in their bandbox. I'll be satisfied with a split.

3 of the 4 games are vs rookie pitchers so we'll likely get swept.

And according to Salvy's IG account the team got to Boston at 5 am ET :sdeek:

The good news... we got to a rookie last night!  :)

The bad news... 3 of the 4 of those Boston pitchers are lefties.  :frown:

Our ability to beat aces yet look overwhelmed by rookies is very bizarre...BUT THAT'S BASEBALL :D

The Reds are basically a mirror image of my softball team. So adorable.

Good chance we resign him for another 2 or 3 years.  Loving him is OK, especially if he helps us win a WS.
