Posse stat of the day....

18 home series. We have more swept series, 5 total  (one 4-game, two 3-game two 2-game series) than home series  we have lost.... Only 3
13-3-2 in home series this year.

I'm thinking we should be better tomorrow against Boyd.

Royals are 17-11 (my unofficial count) since Gordon went down with the injury.

 :cheese:
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I don't see what Rios possibly offers that Paulo can't do. Pretty similar players right now, except Paulo tries way harder.

Thoughts on the past few games:

1. Pen is fine. Madson and Holland both looked great past 2 games.
2. The team, top to bottom, had good ABs the past 2 games. We didn't seem to do our swing at everything junk we do, and took some key walks. You have to hope that trend continues.
3. Duffy......... that is worriesome, but lets see his next outing before we declare a trend.
4. Star Wars day  Nebraska day   . They were so..... fat and stupid.
5. Moose is an underrated defensive player. Machado might be the best in the AL at 3rd, but Moose looked great today and last night.

Did we win by one again?

Yes.

And the last two were demonstrations of the absurdity of "wins" for pitchers with Guts getting the win yesterday and Herrera getting a win today.

Sweet. Yeah. Wins are dumb for pitchers. 7 innings and 3 runs allowed is what should matter for pitchers imo.

according to yost, duffy sweats too much to throw breaking balls in summer day games.

that is quite incredible.  we have a great record but it also helps make a bigger cushion having the twins go 2-8 in their last 10  :sdeek:

It's ridiculous that our lead over 2nd in the Central has become basically the same as the other 2 divisions' lead over last place in theirs.

it would be interesting to see the last time that has happened in either league this late in the year

True question here: Is that a telling statement on our division or more about the entire league in general?

the last place teams in the AL all have basically the same record.  i think that says more about how good the royals are than the rest of the league not being as good

Thanks, TBT. I didn't even look at that. Makes good sense.

i sweated out about 38 lb's out there today, so i actually don't have a hard time believing this.

danny is fine. but medlen should absolutely take guts spot in the rotation if they think he's ready to throw 80 plus pitches per outing.

It was a billion degrees there today. It felt like being inside some sort of waterless hot tub.

Yes.

Better telling sign  for a starter this year is what I have talked about in the past.  Get a start where your in-game ERA is under 3.75 and we have a very good shot at a win.

Start with in-game ERA under 3.75 = 49-10 record
Start with in-game ERA over 5.00 = 13-30 record
Games where we score 4+ = 51-8
** 3 games where starter left injured do not figure into the 3.75 and 5.00 records
