And the lead is now 9.5 games. Royal Life is good.

I'm finished worrying much about the Central, it's all about securing home field now. If the Central becomes a real race again, then we've fallen off a lot down the strength. I realize taking the playoffs for granted shouldn't happen after our first playoff appearance in 30 years, but it's clear that just making the playoffs again is not the goal for this season anymore.

home field and pulling for inferior teams to win wildcards.  unfortunately, cheering for poorer teams to win more games than better teams over a 55 game stretch is a pretty poor emotional investment.  i'm a little mad at the royals for not giving me something higher probability to root for.

We are going to sweep the Tigers, then we are going to sweep the White Sox, and then sweep the Tigers again!   :Woohoo:

A 10 game win streak would be great. There's no reason we shouldn't go like 14-5 or 13-6 in this 19 game pud stretch.

Really the last 57 games are super pud. Only teams left over .500 are the Angles and Minnesota. The rest are super pud detroit, cleveland, chicago white sox, cubs, tampa bay, baltimore, boston, and seattle

If the Roy's go 30-27 (which would be very pud), they would end up with 93 wins. NINE-TEE-THREE!

Baltimore is starting to play well, but yeah. Our last two months are very favorable.

My biggest fear with this team is that they'll start to coast. Every game mattered down the stretch last year so the team was going all out in September. That momentum the final 2 weeks carried over into October.

yes, but they need to let the angels, baltimore, minnesota and maybe tampa bay win all of those games to help block toronto and houston.  you need to factor that in to your analyses.

will somebody compile our record against probable playoff teams.  I'm sure it's fine - but I feel like it's pretty meh

Vs the 4 current playoff teams (10-12)
NY 2-4
Hou 2-4
LA 3-0
Tor 3-4

Vs 4 other teams 2 games or less behind WC ( 15-9)
Minn 8-5
Balt 0-0
TB 4-0
Texas 3-4

We are 11-6 vs NL and 5-6 vs Cards Pirates Cubs (possible playoff teams)

So no surprise we beat up on the bad teams. 33-15 vs teams below .500
30-27 (19-10 at home) vs teams in playoff contention

We need home field.

I was just playing around on fangraphs. The home/road splits for Toronto are LOL. something is up there. I also noticed the Royals and Angels are remarkably consistent at home and on the road.

The Astros and Yankees get a bump from their home parks but don't have near the delta that the Jays do.

Go Twins, Go Orioles.

You realize the productivity from his spot has almost been identical since he left, right?

No, I'm just saying they broke down the numbers the other day on 810 and left field has barely missed a beat. I do think Benny is super valuable to this team and I hope he takes over right, rather than left when Gordo is back.

I really like Infante's D and don't want that middle infields chemistry messed up.

i love infante, but dyson could platoon with rios and improve right.  the only way to improve 2nd is with zobsie.  all hypothetical, obviously, the royals won't do either.

He's going to right when Gordon's back.  It's been shown that they have no confidence in Dyson and Rios is Rios obviously.

I could see them rotating him at different positions to give guys a breather too. Too bad he can't play catcher.
