will somebody compile our record against probable playoff teams.  I'm sure it's fine - but I feel like it's pretty meh

Vs the 4 current playoff teams (10-12)
NY 2-4
Hou 2-4
LA 3-0
Tor 3-4

Vs 4 other teams 2 games or less behind WC ( 15-9)
Minn 8-5
Balt 0-0
TB 4-0
Texas 3-4

We are 11-6 vs NL and 5-6 vs Cards Pirates Cubs (possible playoff teams)

So no surprise we beat up on the bad teams. 33-15 vs teams below .500
30-27 (19-10 at home) vs teams in playoff contention

Something to consider though is which of those games were started by Blanton/Guthrie/Vargas/Young. Really only need to look at games started by Volquez/Duffy/Ventura/Cueto

We need Alex Gordon to not be on the disabled list.
You realize the productivity from his spot has almost been identical since he left, right?

You realize Zobby stays in the lineup right?
I was  clearly making an observation, cf3. Yes, I'm aware.

But yes, I miss gordo nation.

No, I'm just saying they broke down the numbers the other day on 810 and left field has barely missed a beat. I do think Benny is super valuable to this team and I hope he takes over right, rather than left when Gordo is back.
:dunno:

I could see them rotating him at different positions to give guys a breather too. Too bad he can't play catcher.

I'm talking playoffs.  We are going to be giving lots of breathers at every position between now and then.

Yeah, I'm not sure what they'll do in the playoffs, but if we do take it to the series, we're going to have a crap ton of stud pinch hitters.

there seems to be a lot of confidence in gordon coming back healthy/good. I wish I had that confidence.

Dyson's most valuable role on the team is his baserunning. When we start playing games that matter his ability to run for Morales, Moose, or Salvy in situations when we HAVE to have a run will be important. Pinch runners are crucial team members.

Same goes for pinch hitters when playing in NL ballparks. Rios and Infante will be good in that role.

last year, they carried gore in the playoffs.  i'm kinda assuming/hoping they'll do so again (zobsie makes it easier to do so).  so you can use dyson in the lineup and still have a guy that can steal at will on the bench.

Hit BP against verlander and get stumped by a minor league canadian, that's our royals.

On the bright side, we probably won't see any minor league Canadians in the playoffs  :dunno:

This is what I get for expecting a laugher I guess. Though I didn't think we'd be seeing Oil Can Boyd tonight.

I'm not going to give Boyd that much credit Hud, we've stunk at the plate tonight. Cueto wasn't dominant, but 1 run on this guy is ridiculous.

their bullpen still sucks, so the royals better beat the crap out of it these coming innings.  i'm pretty amazed they let their delicate baby pitcher throw 100+ in a game that doesn't mean much to them.  that's pretty Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

I'll take 2 runs in 7 innings anytime from a starter.
