He got it done.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Man its tough to watch holland become a shell of himself

A 93 MPH fastball isn't going to cut it.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Posse stat of the night....

There are 31 MLB starters that have an ERA of 3.25 or lower.  The Royals have a 17-8 record when facing those guys.      :Wha:

Holland in June----
Had 10 appearances.
1 of them was awful. Gave up 4H and a walk. Didn't record an out (we were up 8-2 vs Milw)
Other 9 appearances, he didn't allow a hit in 8.2

Holly in July---
Has faced 45 batters.  18 of them have reached base.  Allowing a .333 average  :frown:

What's the point of trading for an "ace" when you can already beat the other team's best guy?

Holland looks kind of bloated

Not as much as Hurdle.

Evidently Holland and Hurdle both had a pregame meal of shellfish. Epipens all around!

I don't know if that's a face model to follow in the postseason

Pretty confident Vargy will be Tommy John for the next year and a half.  I think this event will solidfy the Royals needing an ace for the postseason.  We can't go into the playoffs with Blanton listed as a starting pitcher.

Some rumors are that Detroit would want Ventura and Holland for Price and Cespedes.  I don't see the Royals doing an inner-division trade.  Hopefully it makes Cueto more desirable and less expensive.  We will need an ace or at the least a #2 guy to have a chance in the World Series.  We also need Ventura to be the 2014 Ventura to have a chance advancing through he playoffs.

Ventura isn't going to be 2014 Ventura until next season at the earliest. Trading him for an ace would greatly improve the team this year. I'd have a hard time supporting that, though.
